Too Cute Not to share~ Bragging opportunity.
« on: January 14, 2010, 12:58:07 PM »
My 9 year old niece goes to a private school here.  Not a religion-based school, and not a public school.  As part of their curriculum, they do lots and lots of hands-on stuff.  Here is a pic of a day field trip they took right before Christmas.  I am busting out with pride.

Awesome, Deb!!

That is such a wonderful thing to do for the troops and a great experience for the kids.

Would be nice if more school kids did it.....maybe help them to realize their freedoms come with a price and that it's real people over there fighting for those freedoms.

That's great.  Wish more kids were taken to do this.

I really love these kinds of pics.

The kids may not have a complete awareness of what they're doing, but they'll remember the experience forever.

Are they greeting them coming home or seeing them off?

This one was coming home, on 12/21.  This was the first time they did it, and they want to do a seeing off one too.  I believe the teachers are going to try to commit to once every 6 months or so.  My niece has an Uncle in the AF, my SIL's brother.  I think she probably got it a little more than most, because it is discussed in our family.

Here is another.  I think the kids really had a good time.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
