I have a bouncy....woo hoo
« on: January 06, 2010, 06:15:16 PM »
SO I took my daughter to the doctor today.  She has some funky hives as well as swelling on her feet, mainly the pressure points on the tops and bottom of her feet.  Especially her big toe.  The doctor thinks it's allergies (long story) and ordered some blood tests (7 vials of blood were taken).

ANYWAY, I was telling this doctor (he is our new primary care doctor because we switched insurance as of january 1st) that we recently moved here from Dallas.  He asked me how I liked it here and I replied that I didn't like it very much.  Especially the cost of living, housing being three times what it was in Dallas and the TAXES.  He said he would love to live in Texas except for the weather.  I asked him what he thought of the health care deal and before he answered he said to me, "You are a red person who lived in a red state, now you are a red person living in a blue state.  I'm a red person living in a blue state."   I acknowledge I was a "red person" and then he just went off about the health care bill. I told him that I didn't realize the percentage of doctors were as low as they were that belonged to the AMA.   He said something about how it is a percentage of the AMA that support it, not the AMA as a whole (mainly the people at the top).  Then he brought up Rahm Emanual and his brother.  How the elderly are going to get screwed, etc.  He also mentioned  Tort reform and said something about Texas was leading the way but that it is stuck in the Texas supreme court or something.  To be truthful I don't remember exactly what he said about it but I heard Tort reform, Texas leading the way and something about Texas Supreme Court.  I said to him, "You must be a Glenn Beck listener."  He replied, "You must be a Fox News listener."  Then he did some Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation.

He made me finally feel at home in this suck ass state.

I deserve at least a couple of bouncy's for the Tort reform, AMA and Rahm Emanual and Glenn Beck...don't forget those when you rate my bouncy.

No police, no bushes, we are going have to mark it down....

I totally believe it, my surgeon keeps trying to get me to protest H. Waxmans office.

Not a bad bouncy, but it missed a couple of critical points...no conversion, no maniacal screaming.

I'll give it a 6.

On another note, I hope you daughter gets feeling better soon!

Come on, it would be pretty hard to work in cops jumping out of the bushes when I was at the doctors office.  Cut me some slack.

But I didn't need to convert him, he was already on our side.  You all are a tough audience.

Ok, here you go.  When I was leaving the doctor's office I saw something move in the bushes.  Then a cop jumped out and said that the nurse overheard me talking to the doctor and called the police.  Apparently it is illegal to be a conservatives and live in California.

Beg, sounds like Urticaria to me.  Seriously.  That is what I have.  Google it.  I have Chronic Urticaria, mine is caused by pressure: the feet stuff, and heat.  But I do get some by stress.  Not to sound like a party pooper on your bouncy or anything.....there is a really great support group in Yahoo Groups, and most of them seem to be mothers of children that have it.

Would you mind sending me the link.  Also are you constantly hot while others aren't?  I swear my daughter has her own internal furnace she is so hot all the time.

Now I feel guilty, because of me my daughter could have an auto immune disease. Now I know how my mom felt when she told me she felt like it was her fault that I got my auto immune disease. :(

I have yet another bouncy.  The doctor who did my nerve/muscle test deal today is also a Glenn Beck listener.  Actually, I don't know if he is a Glenn Beck listener, I just thought I would throw that in for the sake of a bouncy :p  but I brought up the Healthcare bill.  I  think I am in that mode because of the reaction of the other doctor yesterday.  I'm on a roll.  A nurse walked in while he was starting the test and asked him how he wanted to bill the lady who was in there before me.  She said the woman was a cash customer.  He said to bill her for the lowest level for an appointment yet she had the highest level appt.  I told him that my doctor use to do that (mu rheumatologist did that, my neurologist saw me for free) when I didn't have insurance back after I had my stroke and I really appreciated it.  He says he usually does that for his patients who don't have insurance and if he knows the financial situation of the person and they truly don't have the money he will not charge them.

So I got brave after the nurse left and asked him about the healthcare bill.  He said he didn't like it.  I agreed.  Then he said that it isn't about the health of the people or giving insurance to more people....it is about control.  I of course agreed and then he just discussed his views in general which I agreed with.  He was a bit more bold than the doctor yesterday as he didn't wait to get a feeling for my views before he starting letting his out.  I must admit, it made me really like him.  I liked him before but liked him more after.

He asked me how long I have been married.  I said, "23 years...I guess he still likes me."  Then he said, "Well that doesn't mean anything, it might be cheaper to keep you".   :p

Now, see, you could have very easily worked bouncy boobs into this one, and I would have given you a 10 without hesitation.  :evillaugh:

Sorry, no boobs but he did talk about my plumbing......but was using the analogy to explain how a stroke causes damage.  He said that you have the faucet (that send the impulses from the brain), the hose (the nerve fibers that carry the impulses to the nerve) and the sprinklers (the nerves).  There are tons of sprinklers in every muscle.  Now imagine the city turns off the water (the stroke), you can't turn the faucet on.  He said that the city left on a trickle of water with me though so the faucet drips, which means if I really concentrate I can make the muscle work...it's just weak.

I have never had it explained that way to me.  He wanted to make sure I understood everything and he explained every step he was doing when he was performing the test.  He also gave me the pro's and con's of the surgery I am going to have and told me the doctor who is going to do it is the best.  He sent his daughter to him and if someone in his family was going to have the surgery that I am going to have he would send them to him.

I'm sure my response it going to give me a negative bouncy score now.
