No U.S. combat-related deaths in Iraq in December

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- December was the first month since the beginning of the Iraq war in which there were no U.S. combat deaths, the U.S. military reported.

There were three noncombat fatalities.

"That is a very significant milestone for us as we continue to move forward, and I think that also speaks to the level of violence and how it has decreased over time," said Army Gen. Ray Odierno, the top U.S. commander in Iraq.

Since the beginning of the war more than six years ago, 4,373 U.S. military members have died -- 3,477 from hostilities and 898 in non-combat incidents.

Combat fatalities have decreased significantly since June, when the United States started withdrawing troops from Baghdad, Iraq's capital, and other urban areas. The United States also started a troop drawdown in 2009 from about 160,000 to the current level of around 110,000.

You can imagine how this will be spun.
I am glad that there were no combat deaths in Iraq so don't get me wrong but, the left is going to spin this like crazy.

Hell the media acts these days as if there isn't a war going on anywhere judging by the scarcity of reporting these days.

We've gone from nightly breathless reporting of every single hang nail that every soldier in Iraq got to.....*crickets*

Yep gone are the days when giddy reporters counted the dead and eagerly awaited each milestone in the numbers. It was sickening watching the goons celebrating when it hit 1k, 2k etc hoping like hell it would be enough to kick Bush out of office. Meanwhile in Afghanistan we have had the deadliest months ever the past few months and not even a whisper. That right there shows it was all political and they didn't give a rats ass about those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

How about the pictures from Dover AFB at 0300?  The juicebox kids were calling for that when GW was in office.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Yup that just about nails it.
