A great many things are said about southern California. The one I take exception too is that we do not celebrate a traditional Christmas.

We have a white Christmas:



Why it got down to 5,000 feet just last week.

And of course the Tree:




I am permitted Hawaiian shirt with a silk endorsement.

And we bake the traditional cookies:



Christmas Bat cookies , baked by the youngest granddaughter.

Wow, that is really pretty! Where excatly do you live, town wise in southern CA. I live in Fresno myself.

I am just shocked SHOCKED by the racism shown in the first picture! An obviously all white suburban neighborhood used as an example of a White Christmas. Umm umm umm I bet they have those armed guard shacks at the entrance to keep the riff-raff out too! I am ordering a million man march on yo hood just as soon as we figure out what racist mountain that is!

Despite the nose-on 70ish car muscle (a Dodge Challenger?), the neighborhood is probably 10-20 years old. The curb-side mailboxes and the decent-sized trees suggest that to me. Is the neighborhood in the LA area looking north or Bakersfield (Kern County) looking south?

The catering truck has a 909 area code, so we are talking Pomona and thereabouts. I grew up with more or less that view. I lived in Glendora, Covina, and San Dimas as a kid, and my father lived a little further east, toward Claremont, before his death.

From Chino, looking north. San Gabrials mountians, Mt Baldy would be more to the right. This is the next peak west, and I want to say Pine Mt or Sugerloaf.  Nice call.

Wow, Chino has really built out in the past decades. When I was a kid, there was nothing out there except a minimum security prison, and a handful of scattered housing developments.

Yeah, you really WOULD be amazed.  Hardly any open space at all around there now.
