Hey now, you call me a wench and I may just have to act the part..... for once.  :-)

You are so full of bunk, you would not give a 30 day notice.  :thatsright: That's like me saying, "no, really, I like this little shack we live in"  :-)

Ok, I'm sowwy about the "wench" remark but you SO would not remember "the little people".  You would post one last picture of your bare behind on every message board you frequent.  In big block letters on the picture it would say "kizz me, I hit teh pwerball. kthxbye!"  :lmao:

:lmao: I'll have to have Snugs work on that photoshop for me.... just in case.

But when I do, when I DO... I shall remember all the little people.  :-)

TOTN: What would you do with 200 Million?

First, I would set up a trust consisting of shares in $10,000 increments.  Then I would alot shares to those with whom I intend to share the wealth.  Everyone I know would get at least one share.  The Lord would get 2000 shares tax free first.

My wife, myself, our children and their children would be well taken care of.  Everyone would receive a GENEROUS monthly income from their shares while the remainder is left invested.  By the time I got through wrapping all the details, my great great great great grandchildren would never want for a thing.

I wonder how many people squander their fortune? Probably quite a few. Sounds like you will be leaving a legacy for generations to come.

Money is nice and all, but it has never been important to my happiness.  If I had that fortune dropped in my lap, my future possessions would be of better quality, I would probably travel more, and I would indulge a couple of my fantasies, but otherwise I can't imagine my life changing all that much.

TOTN: First thing I would do is buy this.

Then, I would buy beaucoup land in NM and OK to build some compounds.

Wow... that boat is sweet.  :-)

Does NM and OK have a lot of land?

Isn't it though?

Oh yeah, mucho, empty land.

You would need to be near the sea to enjoy it. I could take care of it while you were back home.  :-)

Hell, I'd probably sign the papers over to you after I zoomed around in it for a few days.

I'm not doing too bad here tonight.  :naughty:

I'd finish fixing up my house, pay off my mom's mortgage and get my dad a nice house.  Pay off my best friend's medical school loans.  Take care of my brother & his wife, set up college funds for my nephews.

Give some to my extended family members.

Give to charity.  Pay off my car.

Save & invest the rest and live off the interest.

Very sound strategy my dear. I must admit when I read this:

Quote
Save & invest the rest and live off the interest.

I thought it said this:

Quote
Save & invest the rest and live off the internet.

 :lmao:

LOL.  Well my best friend and I had a long conversation during a drive to Austin one night when there was a huge lottery going on.

I would definitely want to help out my family.  I like this house, so I'd pay someone money to fix it all up super nice.  But in a few years I'd probably move out.

There's a show on A&E I think, where they talk to lotto winners and see what they've spent their money on.  Most of them are broke again. I wouldn't waste my money on stupid stuff.  Plus you'd have so much even after giving a bunch away, that you can just live off the interest.

I think the worst part of winning is losing your anonymity. I think you would be forced to change the way you live whether you wanted to or not.

My fame would be short lived.  I have the money tied up in a trust before I saw a dime.  The moochers would be sadly out of luck.  Now, what happens after the monthly allowances start rolling in is between the payee and the moochers.

I forgot to mention the 20 million I would give to the Lord would go into a legal investment trust fund for Boys Scouts of America.  It could be used only to fight the ACLU and others who attack their organization.

That's actually a great idea in any case.

You know that one friend of mine from high school....the one I call that name?  Well her ex-husband won 1.2 million in Vegas and about a year and a half later he was broke.

He immediately quit his job, built a new house, numerous cars among other things and bought his wife (not my friend but his 2nd wife) a tanning salon that subsequently went under in less than a year.  He had to sell his new house less than a year after he moved into it.

Stupid idiot, I bet he doesn't even have a 401k, he should have put most of it away for retirement.

I can understand wanting to buy yourself something you have always wanted if a large windfall fell in your lap but what he did was the most idiotic thing you could do.  Another good friend just received a large sum of money when her grandma died.  They bought a new boat and she is getting plantation shutters ($10k worth) on most of her windows in her house.  The rest is being invested.  I don't think they are being idiotic but my friends ex-husband was an idiot before he won the money so I guess I should have known the money wouldn't make him any smarter.

Condolences.  I don't play the Powerball all that much but if I won, I would learn as much about affluence as possible and then open up affordable affluence education centers where adults, especially those who never had a good economic education, could go and learn the smart ways to become wealthy.  But I would also have advanced classes for people who already have a good education in such things but would like a better one.

10K worth of shutters?  Wow.  She can get the PVC type at Lowe's for around 200 bucks a window.  I'd have to intervene.   :mental:

These are custom plantation shutters, they do cost quite a bit.   :p

On the boat deal I would have to agree but it is something they really wanted.  When I was in high school my parents had a boat.  The day my step-dad sold the boat he said, "You know what they say....happiest day of a boat owner's life is the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it.

You know that one friend of mine from high school....the one I call that name?  Well her ex-husband won 1.2 million in Vegas and about a year and a half later he was broke.

Gad!  And I could have lived the rest of my life on it.

That's the difference in people.  I'd be more the Jed Clampett type.  I'd still be wearing my ratty clothes and driving my old truck.

People's ignorance of money has always astounded me.  It also made me a good living during my productive years, so I can't complain.

10K worth of shutters?  Wow.  She can get the PVC type at Lowe's for around 200 bucks a window.  I'd have to intervene.   :mental:

My parents bought a boat too...well, my dad bought a boat.  He paid a thousand dollars for an I/O that needed five thousand dollars worth of work.  The trouble was my mother was deathly afraid of water.  I never saw my mother in a swimming pool.  She got queasy lifting the toilet lid.  She would bathe in 3" of water.  You think she'd let her kids out on a boat?  It was quite the family drama.   The boat got sold....for eight hundred dollars.

I'm glad till this day my mother is buried on high ground.  I cannot stand the thought of the water table reaching her casket.  She would just die!

Hmm I think I would,

Buy CC from Reb
Pay off ACC's car for her.
Give half to Lurkalot.
Send enough money for Frank to feed his cats for life.
Give Chris enough money to get his eye fixed.
Fly all CC'ers to the GTG.
Buy CU from Rob and ban Gator.
And of course the boring, give money to my parents blah blah blah....invest...blah blah blah.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I didn't with the powerball but i did get 3 bucks out of it this time.

TOTD I'd have to go buy that island in the Pacific and just stay there while my secret lair is built.

Yall need to start thinking in terms of "compounds".

That's actually a great idea in any case.

Actually a better idea is former USAF ICBM silos and missile sites. Very Secure and the land is CHEAP.
