This is NOT an anti-Chinese thread. This is not an anti-Obama thread.

This is a thread about where we really stand in the world.

China is now the biggest bad-ass on the planet. Today's semi-impromptu meeting between our president and China's top guy could have happened to any US president. Our country is so far in debt to them that we have little choice but to request things and hope for the best.

We are, indeed, pwned.

This goes back to Clinton, with China getting MFN status with us. This goes back to Nixon and the ping pong team.

This goes back to Confucius.

If not farther.

i was rchsod but after 2004 i changed it to madrchsod which is what some of my friends called me in high school. they thought i was the craziest guy in the crew. i changed it in 2004 because of the election

7. the chinese have some serious cultural disadvantages to fix

their history is one of cycling between poles of corruption and new brooms, with revolutions or other massive unrest removing the corrupt, and the brooms in turn becoming corrupt themselves. Very much like the rest of the third world, except the phenomenon predates western imperialism by a few thousand years, so the white devils can't be blamed. They're currently on the cusp of a similar event, as the advances of the communist revolution are pawned in order to play at the world economic tables.

And by the way, in the spirit of interdependence, by holding our debt, they're just as beholden to us as we are to them, since if our debt becomes worthless, they lose their wealth, just like all the idiots here who thought they would flip houses after their prices doubled and then couldn't pay the mortgage that was more than the sales price.

this was not an anti-Chinese reply BTW

They sort of have to make sure we succeed. As well as keeping their society stable, because if their is a revolution I bet the US is going to say we don't owe the new gov a dime.

Sorry, Little Goons.  The USA is still the only country on earth that matters.  Your Hate America Balloon still has a hole in it.

I guess the Little Goons never heard of a company letting another company get so indebted to it that the company holding the debt has no choice but to keep on supporting the indebted company because the accounts receivables of company holding the debt is almost entirely based on the promises and payments of the indebted company.  This is when it becomes evident that the indebted company (in this case the USA) owns the debt holding company (in this case China) by convoluted default.
