Tell us what's going on in your part of the world!

I work a half day today, then sell Nutcracker tickets tonight.  I'm trying to get my house finished up, decoration wise, because the next 2 weeks are going to be crazy busy and I have 3 different sets of company coming into town to watch Nutcracker this year!

Outside lights are up (but I think I need more...feels a littel bare).  Tree is up, but not decorated...there is an issue with the lights that Mr Flame has not remedied yet.   The kitties, on the other hand, could care less if there are lights on the tree...they like sleeping under it anyway!

Thinking of throwing some meatballs in the crockpot before I leave for work...

Battening down for a small snow storm.  S'posed to have 1-3 inches of accumulation by this time tomorrow.

Other than that, I'm just enjoying the fact that I'm back at a steady, paying job.

Same ole same ole here.  Work. Eat. Sleep.  Supposed to get chilly, and maybe a snow flurry.  Hopefully I will have energy to start shelling all the pecans I picked up in my yard when I get off work.

Work, work, work.  Somehow, I worked a full 8 hours yesterday, but I feel like I hardly accomplished anything.  I'm hoping today will feel more productive.

I have to leave work early for a follow-up appointment for my ankle.  I think the doctor is supposed to do an MRI, and possibly take X-Rays to determine if I'm going to need surgery.

Crew week/training, aka "Death by Powerpoint."

Outage now starts Sunday.  Still "scheduled" for two weeks, which means maybe, just maybe, we'll be back before X-Mas.

Trying to get a bunch done in order to leave late Friday.

My son is finally moving back home!!! I'm so excited. I knew he was going to, but thought it was going to be after first of year. While he was here for Thanksgiving, we talked, and it's going to be this weekend!! First time in 7 years, he will be home for Christmas. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

He's going to move in with us, not sure for how long. Right now, he's going into his room...but we have an apartment over the garage that he may take over. It's currently the other half's office and "man cave" and I'm not changing everything around until I know how long he's staying here or moving in with a friend.

Have been trying to figure out the logistics of all of this. My runnin' buddy is going out to Nebraska with me....I helped her move her son to ETSU back in August...so I she's helping me move mine. Have to really love a friend like that.  :-)

We're driving to Nashville Friday night and flying out of there to Omaha early Saturday morning.....saves over $200 each to driv 2.5 hrs. We're then renting a car, driving to Grand Island...help finish what ever he has left to do....then heading back late Sunday or Monday.

My friend's never been to Nebraska....keep trying to explain to her she's never seen any place so flat!! I saw on the weather thing on MSN that it's supposed to be a high of 21 on Saturday!! She's a southern girl....talk about geographical shock.   :evillaugh:

I cannot believe how incredibly varied prices are for travelling! I originally was going to rent a car and we drive (16 hours  :o ). The cheapest one I could find was going to be $685 and that was to return it back to Omaha!! No gas, no food, no hotel room....nada. Just for the car!  :therock:  It's turning out with hotel in Nashville, 2 plane tickets, car in Nebraska, gas for cars going and coming back, hotel in Nebraska....$750.

I finally got the plane tickets and the car last night...still have to get hotel rooms....but keep ending up on different sites and finding different prices for the same places. Same place in near Nashville airport has gone from $124 to $59, by going to a different hotel site. Yet on the car rental site...it quoted one price...by the time I filled out all the info, the site requoted it to $10 a day higher. So I went back and switched car companies, and that one stayed the same.

So far, I've spent about 5 hours looking for "deals"....and my friend was doing it too...and I've come to the conclusion that if you're willing to spend the time looking....you can really save money. I started out on Kayak, looked at a bunch of travel sites. Actually ended up booking the plane tickets directly through Delta's website and got the car through Delta's site also....it was the cheapest of all the prices I found and am getting frequent flyer points on both. It's looking like it's also the cheapest for the hotels, and I will get FF points for them too.

These travel sites may not be all they are cracked up to be.....

Rush while getting some work done this morning, then clean 1 of my chicken coops, fix goat pen, workout. After that I'm in full craft mode as this is a pretty busy time of year.

The best thing about Christmas is when your family lives further than 9 hours away, and, well, you can't take anytime off, because of "work and stuff."  Don't get me wrong, I love my family, and I really don't mind Christmas, but together it is a friggin nightmare.

I'm only 2 hours away. :(  And Mom, Grandma and aunt get overly sensitive towards me because the divorce was final on 12/23... so it becomes this huge "is Brian okay?" party.  :hammer: :hammer:
