Poll question: So, How Long Have You Been (Currently) Unemployed?
My position at a non-profit was eliminated due to budget "challenges" on Oct 1. Since then, I've had lots of interviews, but haven't been hired. I've noticed that the places I have interviewed at haven't hired anyone else, either. A couple of them told me they were trying to decide whether to hire for a recently vacated position or just eliminate the position and save the salary for something else (well, at least they were honest).

So, how long have you been out?

Sure sucks being unemployed during the holidays (I am drawing CA UI benefits).

Vote below:

So far, "over 2 years" is winning.   :rotf: :rotf:

You've got to wonder...if the answers had gone all the way up to "LIFETIME," would that choice have won??   :lmao:

And it's all Bush's fault of course. He damaged the country so bad not even the noble Obama can fix it.  :lmao:

Perhaps that's the "Other" poll choice?

4. I thought it was time for a little perspective.
And it's really disturbing to see that the majority of unemployed DUers have been out for over 2 years!

The majority of unemployed DUmmies have never had steady employment.

Well those drug tests have a tendency to put DUmmies on the unemployment line.  :-)

I call bullshit. Teachers are almost always in high demand, especially in inner-cities. I'm betting this joker only applied to wealthy white school systems, where turnover is low and the pay is high.

Oh, you got that right, Vivismom.  If he wanted to be employed, he could be in a flash.  Don't these people want to make a difference?  That said, I started to major in secondary ed, and it was such a steaming pile of bullshit, I had to get out and into something sane, like accounting.

Or primary, for that matter.

From the age of 14, I can count a period of two months where I've been unemployed, most of that being after I had just left the Navy and two weeks between SCE and my current job.

SOoooo, most have been since the democrat got their hands on the congress.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Don't these people want to make a difference?

Only if the pay is right and the workload is nonexistent.

Bwaahahaha... over a third claim to have been unemployed for over two years. I'd like to see a poll, "When were you first diagnosed with a mental disorder?"
