Fresno State 53, Illionis 52, final.

Well, that does it.

I'm going to follow the games hereafter on msn.

I can't believe "one second" takes twenty ****ing minutes before someone at Rivals punches in a lousy two-digit number.

I suggest a sports bar in the big city, where you can see every televised game on a hi-def widescreen.

I mean, seriously, how hard is it for a guy sitting in a cubicle in Chicago or New York City, watching a game on television, to punch in the numbers in a timely manner?

I don't know what happened with the delay, but the game ended right as I typed it at 2:53 or so.

It's been showing "12:51 third quarter" in the San Jose State-Louisiana Tech scoreboard for about twelve minutes now.

I'll bet the score inputter at Rivals is toking dope.

It still doesn't show the Florida-Alabama game as underway yet, and I'm sure that game started some fifteen minutes ago.

It's still showing "12:51 left in third quarter" in the San Jose State-Louisiana Tech game; the same "time remaining" it had when I rebooted this computer, which was more than twenty minutes ago.

I'll bet the score puncher-in at Rivals is passed out at his desk.

Geezuz.

Only 3 minutes into the game, Alabama ball on the FLA 35.

ESPN.com is the site that I usually use for frequent updates, especially on my phone, but they occasionally get backed up as well.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about how they do this.

I assume they have a guy in a cubicle in front of a television set watching one game.

And every time the guy sees a score on the television, he punches it into the box-score of the web-site.

Whoever's in charge of watching the San Jose State-Louisiana Tech game is fallen down on the job.

The score currently showing up is:

San Jose State 20, Louisiana Tech 45, with 8:51 left in the third quarter.

It's been that way for some minutes now, and no indication if San Jose made the extra point.

I would imagine that's the scenario.

If you follow the "Game-Cast" that many websites offer, they also update every single play.  Not just in football in "real-time", but baseball, basketball & hockey as well.  You can follow every pitch, shot, etc.

I had switched to msn, but then saw (remembered) that its own scoreboard isn't all nice and compact like that of Rivals, and that I would have to go from window to window and back-and-forth to see the scores.

Rivals has all the day's games on one single page.

So reluctantly I've been back in Rivals.

Still some minutes later showing San Jose State 20, Louisiana Tech 45, with 8:51 remaining in the third quarter.  No indication if San Jose State made that extra point.

Does anyone really care about that game? :evillaugh:

10-0 Alabama!

edit - reviewing the Alabama rushing TD

edit again - need to stop automatically giving teams the extra point....Alabama got the TD confirmed, hit the upright on the extra point...

Alabama 9, Florida 0, 1st quarter

Well, finally.

The guy in the cubicle in charge of watching the San Jose State-Louisiana Tech game awoke from his cannibus stupor, or quit petting his girlfriend, and updated.

San Jose State 20, Louisiana Tech 48, third quarter.
