Last Off Monday
« on: November 09, 2009, 05:48:22 AM »
Unless I have to work the line outage this weekend.  Frankly, I'd rather just work the weekend and get the comp day next Monday.

Chilly now at 30, but warming up to 65 this afternoon.  SIXTY-FREAKIN-FIVE!!!  Then back to the usual crap.

Was doing laundry last night and must have overloaded the washer, because the motor quit and started to smoke.  I figured I had trashed it and left it there until this morning, planning to call the repair guy and spend a ton of money I didn't have on repairs and sitting around all day with my thumb up my ass.

But lo and behold, the damn thing runs this morning!!!  Halleluja!  On second (much smaller) load now.  After laundry/housework, have to see if I can get the motley furry hordes into the vet today, and chase down paperwork/police checks/fingerprinting for my poker dealing job, and then maybe, JUST MAYBE, I can relax a bit before heading back to the Death March tomorrow.

One of these days I'll be able to slow down.

Sunny and predicted high of 72 today!   Mr Flame was scheduled for vacation this week, but decided to dump all but today, so we are spending the day together.

Not sure what we are going to do, but it will be nice to just hang out!

Well looks like he picked the best day of the week anyway, Flame! Nice, unseasonably warm day :cheersmate:

As for me, still carrying a cough, but feel better...did a lot of painting over the weekend. Guess given that it's time to take me, some cough drops, and my continued cough and go back to the gym. Only went for maybe 3 hours total last week since I just didn't feel well. Hoping this week is more productive, even if I have to keep a continuous stream of cough drops going for the first couple of days so I don't scare away their business.  :-)

Already 50 degrees here so going to have to take a break from painting and rake the leaves up I think. Might pull out the xmas lights too just so they are ready to go.  :cheersmate:

It's supposed to be warm again, today, with a chance of thunderstorms.

Kind of cloudy and overcast. A gray day. I get to go to Dallas for an EMG and then to my neurologist to have my MRIs read. Since I have the CD, I took a close look at them over the weekend. IF I am reading them correctly, my spine is a wreck. Herniated disks at several levels, bone impingement at other levels. Just Nasty. I don't what it means for me, but it certainly appears as if I will have MORE spine surgery. MY neurologist will confirm what I've seen and tell me what lies in store for me.

Damn.  What the Hades did you ever do to your back, man?

Ouch.

For whatever reasons, I've never had back problems, not a single one.  Not in my whole life.  And remember that I used to take 380# 20' lengths of steel pipe and bend them 90 degrees so as to make posts for basketball backboards.

Among a lot of others things affecting the back.

Meh.  Just Meh.

Ditto what you said.  I have a great sense of foreboding about this week.  Basically, it is gonna be crap.

Thor, so sorry to read the news.  Can't even imagine.  When you get to Big D, wave a bit to the west, and I will wave back.   :-)

Nothing very exciting this week at all.  Friday was a very odd day a work.  It started with a fairly serious discussion with my supervisor about a couple of mistakes I made  :bawl:.  Then, in the afternoon, she was thrilled with something I had done and spent several minutes telling me how impressed she was.   :cheersmate:  When I left, I didn't know how I should feel.   :p  I guess it is a clean slate today.

I've found that it's always better just to ask, believe it or not.  Even if you get a non-answer answer, it's better than not knowing where you stand.  Feedback is critical to any working relationship, and when you get good AND bad, make sure BOTH of you understand what's going on.

Let's see........ Judo for a number of years, lifting & pushing bunches of heavy things...... dunno what caused all of the problems. It seems that my neck and upper thoracic areas are affected, as well as T8-T9, then T11-T12. Then there's the lumbar areas that have some concerns.@ L1-L2.  However, I'm just a layman, so the Dr, will tell me just how bad it really is and her thoughts on what it will take to fix it or not.

Prayers and hugs, Rob.

Doing a report on a $600,000 lake front house on an acre.....they are hard to do....matching up with other lake front property of similar size lot and house size. All I could see of this one was a few clouded(broken seals) windows, the roof and the drive. Have MLS pics from 2007 of tehe totally remodeled interior which is quite nice, but the outside needs some creativity for 600k.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day in the low 70's. It's semi-bright out there now and supposed to go up to the low 70's again with possible rain tomorrow. Wonder if Ida will come up this way? We need more rain... ::) The weather guy said we had almost 11 inches "of surplus"....considering we were coming off of a drought, we've had a whole bunch of rain this year. I haven't heard Gore mention all the rain we've had in TN this year.... :uhsure:

Meh.  Just Meh.

Short and to the point.  :-)

I'm looking at a two-day work week, a day off (Veteran's Day), and then another two-day work week. I think I can handle that.

I want rain. But it's not coming. That makes me sad. I'm sick of the sun and the warm temps. I just want it to feel like fall already.

Wednesday is an optional day off at my work, and I've decided to take an extra day around Christmas instead.  So I have a full week.  Thanksgiving is coming us quickly though :-)

Finally got my report done, and now doing some laundry.

Explain to me how 2 people can have so darn much laundry. I think the socks and underwear get together and reproduce.  :banghead:
