ft. hood lesson.... the military doesn't tell the public the truth

the entire country was left in the dark, or worse, with false information all day long.

the media was given 'certain dis-information and they ran with it.

imagine the information that we are being fed from many thousands of miles away in afghanistan & iraq

More bashing.

Yeah, 'cause information right after a terrorist (be it domestic or foreign) attack is so clear.   Asshat.

Military spokes person: "There has been a tragic event at Fort Hood Texas."

MSM reporter: "Atomic bomb just went off in Dallas Texas."

Military spokes person: "12 people are dead and 31 wounded."

MSM reporter: "Untold thousands are dead and dying."

Military spokes person: "The shooter has been subdued and is in custody."

MSM reporter: "The Department of Defense is keeping a watchful eye out for more nuclear missles."

Military spokes person: "That is all I'm allowed to release at this time."

MSM reporter: "The government is being very secretive about the whole thing but we'll report more as we dream it up.....I mean as we get more information."....."Back to you Dan. It's your turn to wing it for ratings."

12 dead, 31 wounded.   I'm sure the military's focus was on getting people to safety and securing the post, not making sure the media was happy.  ::)

The real tragedy is that our soldiers are forced to serve with armed muzzies in their midst. Not long ago the 101st Airborne had a muzzie member tossing grenades into their tents. These tragedies will continue, since the military is forced to be a social services agency. A muslim is a muslim, regardless of uniform, citizenship, oath, or stated loyalty. They are lying, treacherous vermin.

There are lots of good muslims, but they're the ones who've had close encounters with Hellfire missiles.

Since the crime was performed on a US military base, by a uniformed officer of the US Army, and against
US personnel (both military and civilian)., will the UCMJ take precedence in the trial of this vermin or will
the Obama Administration, through the ACLU, try to have this case closed or tried in a civilian court of law as a precursor for civilian trials for the Gitmo detainees?

Our focus in a situation like this is to one...make sure we have as many hard facts as possible before releasing anything to the media...two...coordinate the information with all of the PAO assets in use at the time...three...make sure whomever is going out to the press briefing to speak...is fully briefed on what they are going to say.

Unlike the MSM we don't rush out sensationalist BS and say "my bad later" and make corrections.

Maximum information in minimal time is how we do it.

Exactly why there may always be a lag time in a military release.  We didn't/don't jump for the nearest mic to get ratings.  Our job was/is to ensure security, triple check facts and eliminate conjecture.

The military has it's reasons for holding back information. Maybe they didn't want this America-hating Muslim to get all lawyered up before announcing that he was not dead after all.

They won't do anything other than read him his rights and place him under arrest until...and if he regains consciousnes and is released from the hospital.

After that it will go pretty quickly.

I'm not sure that under military law they can even touch him.

I know that he can seek a civilian attorney...or he can go with a JAG officer for his defense.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ALU charged Police Sgt. Kimberly Munley with a hate crime, since she's white and he's arabic. Of course in the coming days much will be made in the liberal media about how Nutboy was pushed to do this because apparently some servicemembers called him a raghead. They'll omit of course that he made outlandish statements supporting suicide bombers which probably led to him being outcast and lambasted.

They would try.  You and I both know that.  Actually, most of our members know that.

Yeah it wouldn't stop them from trying.  I'm surprised they didn't try to get involved with the Muslim Sgt. in the fragging incident just before the ground war in Iraq kicked off.

Yup.    I will apologize in advance if this statement ruffles any feathers.  BUT.. It is the military.  It isn't supposed to be easy.  You should anticipate the probability of serving in a war, and being in harm's way, AND not having the best of living/working conditions.  IMHO, the military should NOT have to accomodate you, you should accomodate your military.   Harrassment, for lack of a better word, should be expected.  It is the friggin military, not some namby pamby PC country club.  I'm sorry.  And, even though I haven't served myself, I am getting dammed sick and tired of seeing the military being placed in situations where they have to apologize for things they probably didn't want to see happen anyway, just because the PC police put them there.    :ranton:

If everyone ran off and shot up their units from being harassed in the military for any reason there wouldn't be a sole left. I can't tell you how many times when things were slow and one of us would jazz someone just to get a laugh out of everyone. The military is a high stress environment enough in peacetime. If your not up to what goes on then just say you quit and eventually they will let you go with your Less Then Honorable Discharge and no one but you gets hurt. No need to gun down a dozen or more people when all that Asshat had to do was resign his commission and be gone. This to me anyway sounds alot more then just some Muslim being harrassed for being a Muslim when he had an easy way out of the military. Thissounds more and more like he had a grudge against everyone he saw as an infidel for not following him on the true path to Islam.
