Never talk to the police
Watch both videos. Well worth the time IMO.
That was an eye opener for me as I lived in that area years ago and had to deal with the police when my home was robbed by renters.
The people agreed to return the stove, refridg, and some big stuff but claimed they knew nothing about what happend to the things that I had locked in the attic or garage. I could not prove that they were in possession of anything or had taken anything from my home except for a few appliances.
BTW, the home had been swept clean, not one piece of paper to identify them but they did leave one old phone book behind and we found the name and phone number of a mutual friend written in it and tracked them down that way.
Insurance would not pay for our loss of family photos or my Grandmothers silver, the damage they did to the walls and floors. { interesting that the mother of the husband owned a used item store and got a restraining order against ME and family so we could not go into her store and look for our stolen property.}
Both ways the victim and the Perp, both of us had to deal with the law and had we as victims gotten a lawyer we still never would have recovered what was truly precious family heirlooms.
Interesting side note, the police could not prove the husband had taken my property so they could only charge the 8 month pregnant woman with receiving stolen property.
I had no choice but to drop charges once I got the big items back, ------I had known and worked with these people for years and trusted the.
, Big time lesson for me, trust few and never trust your own judgement based on emotional feelings.
