Revolution, I came across this excellent and inspiring thread today.  I'd like to hear your story!
Thanks to 5412 for sharing such wonderful advice for all of us.  And thanks for making me feel not quite so old this morning, sir.  I was resting in my Mama's womb while you were "playing" at PI.

My son came back from Marine boot camp talking about how much FUN he had.  And he did mention how everyone picked on him because he was barely 17.  The senior DI asked him if his parents knew he was there, well, yes Drill Sergeant, then they must not love you, to which my son said, guess not.  He said the other 17-year old that got razzed that way cried.  Hmm.  I told him to thank me for all the years he got to listen to me yelling at him. :lmao:

Thank you, and everyone else reading this who served/serves for your committment to this nation.  My deepest sympathies for those on active duty with Zer0 as CiC.

Hi,

Thanks to all for the nice words.  I must confess my wife and I have looked at Costa Rica and Panama as a possible alternative because we are worrying about health care being rationed for seniors.  Then it finally dawned on us.  If we need health care we can always travel down to central America and get it......plus what kind of message would we send to our children and grandchildren.  I will be damned if I am going to let these idiots get me down.  We are in the majority, and the tea party movement has made that pretty clear.

I am thrilled that the tea party is not doing any comprising at this point.  Time to get this country where it belongs once again, we all just need to pull together.

regards,

I've been close to giving up. The left has been beating me down for so long that its hard to take much more of it. I have even contemplated moving to New Zealand to get away from it all. What is worse is that the Republican party makes it so damn hard to support them when they give us McCain who intentionally laid down for Obama, and the Romney. I am forced to vote for this puke because he isn't Obama. This next election presents the absolute worst choices for POTUS I have seen in my lifetime. I will vote for Romney because I have no choice in that matter. Obama is just too dangerous to be given another term.

Well, as we recently discovered here on another thread, New Zealand definitely has their share of moonbats. And they're just as loony as American moonbats.

5412...Thanks for that inspiring story. I too was considering hanging it up and moving to Belize. After doing the research, I came to the conclusion that there is no other country in the world that is better than the USA. So, instead of buying a condo there, I bought a vacation beach condo in Perdido Key FL last month. This old fart will never cave in to the bastards that are trying to tear this country down.

Hi,

Very familiar with Perdido Key.  My wife and I built a home in Parasol West about ten years ago and figured we would live there for the rest of our lives.  While our house survived very well, three hurricanes later we decide it might not be what we had hoped and we sold it.....mercifully before Ivan hit.

I know you and I talked about exiting some time back and we came to the same conclusion you did.  We have a "back door" if we need it.  If Obamacare gets overturned, which legally it should, then our primary reason for leaving is removed.

We lived almost directly across the street from that pyramid shaped condo building with our back yard on "Old river".  We had a three story, white house with a green metal roof right by the road and boat dock.    We looked across the road at the gulf at the time because it was not built out, and our back yard (stilt home) porch had a wonderful view of Ono Island.  Kinda funny looking north into Alabama.

If Lillian's Pizza is still on the Island, please tell her Dennis and Jo Miller send their regards.  Used to be the best pizza around.

regards,

PS:  Now my wife and I both own a 2006 SSR, hers is black, mine is silver.  They came equipped with Corvette engines and we love them.

A few nights ago, my wife wanted to know why I was lying awake at 0-dark-30.  I told her that I was worried that our daughter might not be able to enjoy the same things we could, because of the socialism creep brought on by the current idiots in power.  I said, "Freedom and liberty are worth fighting and dying for."  To my utter amazement, she agreed with me.

I work in a city (Albany NY) filled with lefties.

I'm in.
I'm from your city. Born in Saint Peter's. Lived mostly in Delmar, although really it was Elsmere. Off Delaware ave.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Hello Everyone,

I must admit I am flattered that something I wrote 7 years ago has managed to stay on top.  If anything the message is even more relevant today than it was when I wrote it.

I'm now 76 years old, living in AZ and still very concerned about the direction of our country.  Never, ever give up.  I told some folks tonight that the government is governing against the will of the majority.  That will come back to haunt them.

Intuitively I believe Donald Trump has picked up on the mood and the will of the majority.  If you look at his immigration policy, 90% of Americans would support it.

If you are in this country illegally and get apprehended for a crime, your ass is gone!
If you are in this country illegally and show up at the welfare office, your ass is gone!
If you are in this country illegally and show up for free medical care, your ass is gone!
If you are in this country illegally and are working, your ass is gone and your employer will be punished.

Most of the illegals will go home on their own if they can't find work.

I can go on with more examples but I'm preaching to the choir.  When a government goes against the will of the majority, they will rebel.  If anything, the last 8 years, and the behavior of the Republican Party, has united us even more.  We have had it with all the establishment politicians.  I'm sure I wasn't the only one that noticed in the early days of the primaries that the non-establishment candidates got the bulk of the votes; particularly in the Republican party.

I spent three months this summer in rural America.  I saw thousands of Trump signs, two Sanders bumper stickers on cars by a local college and one Hillary sticker on a rusted out car.  I drove farm and country roads and saw thousands of farms with huge flag poles and flags flying well above the roof line of their house.  I sat in cafes and talked and listened to conversations and they are all engaged and damn concerned about the country.

I went to DC with around 500,000 of my new best friends when Glenn Beck held the rally.  It was peaceful.  If there is another spontaneous rally it will be ten times larger and people will be angry because the politicos are not listening.

Thomas Jefferson said, "When a government fears the people, there is liberty.  When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."

It is indeed time to transform America back to a true Constitutional Republic.

Keep pushing, we will prevail!

Regards,

I'm watching the reading of the names of those who died in the Twin Towers.  The Left in this country is, ideologically, indistinguishable from al Qaeda and ISIS.

Always be vigilant.  Carry if you can.

Hi,

The previous poster gave some good advice here:

Carry if you can.

I want to add one tip.  When I decided to start carrying our concealed weapons instructor said my wife also needed a permit.  His reasoning was simple.  Suppose we went to a sporting event where we could not bring a weapon inside, and instead locked it in the glove compartment, and then forgot it.  Then my wife gets pulled over for a traffic violation and they find a weapon in the glove compartment.  She could be prosecuted.  His reasoning is, whether they carry or not, it just makes sense to avoid any problems.

As a funny aside, when I thought about carrying, we were having dinner with friends and I asked them about it.  I never realized how safe I was with my friends.  One dinner, with six couples, 10 of the 12 people had permits and were carrying.  These are what young people would call old farts with grey hair!

Hi,

This just appeared on the Limbaugh site:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/10/21/robert_creamer_s_jailhouse_manual_for_democrats_to_demoralize_conservatives

This is exactly why we must never, ever give up.  Now matter how much crap they throw, never let the bastards get the best of you.

Check the date at the top of the article.  It's from October 23rd of last year.

Um, 5412 posted this in October last year. However, much of the original article is valid.
