He loathed the military yet is being buried at Arlington.    Apparently no one in his family has paid attention to his commentary the past few decades.

What better way for the Kennedy family to continue to snub the military, than by burying the traitor Vast Teddy in amongst so many honorable men.

It has got to make Robert E. Lee sick to the stomach, to know that vermin like this will be feeding the worms on his land.

General Lee isn't the only one

I'd lay odds that if they could get up and walk away, even his brothers might.

He's a U.S. Army vet. He's getting in because of his elected status, not military.

His daddy got him a safe position in Europe during the Korean War I think, he served less than 2 years and left the Army as a Private.

BTW- How many Privates are buried at Arlington?

Anyone who held an elective office of the U.S. government can be buried at Arlington as long as they served on active duty in the armed forces.   And though Bourbon Breathe Kennedy must surely have been as much an embarrassment to the US Army as he was the US Senate, he did serve in the Army.

Thanks for posting this....I thought the requirements had changed...but they changed quite a bit more than I knew.

Fixed for ya buddy. :II:

Last I saw, the qualifications for a 4'x8' piece of Gen. Lee's real estate were pretty exclusive in that regard.  I seem to recall that there was a stipulation regarding the candidate's conduct during civillian life as well, that would further seem to eliminate the Lyin' Bastard of the Senate, but I could be wrong on that one.

Hey Peter...Chuck Yeager is on the phone...he'd like to have a word with you.  :-)

As for me, I'd rather speak with Scott Crossfield.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Crossfield is buried at Arlington.

Kinda weird that he died in a Cessna single-engine 210 with his experience. With the exception of maybe a wing coming off, control surface cables breaking, etc., I just don't see how anyone can crash one and not live. Cessna's like the 150/152, 172, 175, etc. can land on a dime and will float forever. Anyone that's ever flown a 152 or 172 knows what I'm talking about. Then again, his actually went through some violent stuff, IIRC.

Ok, NM. I just Wiki'd. I heard about the story, but never really knew all of the details.

Quote
While lightning itself poses a relatively minor risk to all-metal aircraft like Crossfield's, thunderstorms often contain turbulence severe enough to break an aircraft into pieces, as well as strong downdrafts, heavy rain, severe icing, and heavy hail. The Gordon County Sheriff's department reported that debris from Crossfield's aircraft was found in three different locations within a quarter mile,[5] suggesting that the plane broke up while it was still in the air.

Holy hell.
