Obama: Canadian health care model won't work in U.S.

GUADALAJRA, Mexico (CNN) — President Barack Obama said Monday that Canada's government-run health care model won't work in the United States.
"We've got to develop a uniquely American approach to this problem," Obama said at the final news conference of his North American summit with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Obama noted the U.S. system is based on employers providing health insurance for most Americans. Throwing that out would be too radical an overhaul, he said.

I honestly believe Obama when he says this, and I still think he is 100% wrong. It is so infuriating when you read the comments under the CNN post, and the droves of idiots say things like "Translation: The Canadian system won't work here… YET. Give us some time for intimidation and thuggery, and we'll get there." Are you people for real? If anything, Obama is your biggest pal right now.

1. Fine. Make it like France.

Universal minimum standard of care (that is quite high, mind you), with private enterprise free to deal in supplemental insurance for the "extras." Employers could offer employees the supplementals if they so desired.

92. We've been sold out

Make no mistake about it. The only reason we cannot have a Canadian Single Payer system is because the pimps running the racket have bought off Congress and Obama. It's more important for the Congress to keep the pimps making their hundred million dollar salaries and everyone else just gets ****ed.

3. The President Really Needs To Qualify What He Is Saying Here......

otherwise his comments play right in to the hands of the opposition.

67. I am wondering if Obama isn't the opposition to USPHC! So sad...

The President is in an absolutely unique position to explain the Universal, Single-Payer, Health Care program to the American Sheeple from the "Bully Pulpit".

This isn't rocket science, even I can see the multitudes of advantages to USPHC.

With Barack Obama's skills as an orator, the elegant simplicity of the argument, the almost universal loathing for the Health Insurance industry, and his irresistible charm, the American Sheeple would be edumacated enough to the realities the President can expose to change their "minds", in their own, obvious, best interests.

Already, almost 75% of the Sheeple want to redo the health care "system".

If the media ignores the message and the messenger then the President would have to declare an emergency and by fiat utilize the mass-media to convey the necessary information.

Why not?

I would if I was our Prez! For sure...

Uh, I'm not liking that, the bold area, above.

4. It would work just fine. The problem is that he'd never be able to get it passed and he knows it.

8. But that's not what he said

he said it wouldn't work at all, not that it wouldn't pass.

9. Because he cannot say it wouldn't pass.

That would be a sign of weakness for the right to latch onto.

It's politically easier to say "It won't work".

24. Some will always be in place.

Pragmatism isn't going away. And regardless what the perpetually peeved think, the President is doing a damn fine job.

You cannot quickly undo what took decades to build. It's funny that some people thought President Obama was a fairy with a magic wand and could magically undo all the crap built up over the past 8 years. Some things even longer.

It's like weight gain/loss. It took you 6 months to pack on the extra 30 lbs and it will probably take you twice as long to drop it.

Well, that's what the primitives told us last year, the bold area, above.

5. Which makes Obama the dumbest smart guy in the room.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
