You do have an excuse to go out and buy a few new swimsuits and CFM shoes.
It is Kalifornia after all.
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

Thanks Sparky, would you PM me the place in Huntington Beach???

I wish you lived here now so you could personally show us around.  I would cook you dinner after we moved into our house to return the favor.   :-*

Done, and sent along some other info as well.

It's in El Segundo Sparky.  My friend is in mourning and was crying all day yesterday.  The house they are buying is 1169 sq ft.  They are minimalist but they have two kids and two cats, it's going to be tight.  She said inside the house it isn't too bad but when you are outside you literally can't hear the other person speak when standing right next to them when a plane flies overhead.  On a good note though it was built in 1940 and is cute as can be.

And on another good note, the El Segundo schools aren't part of LAUSD, and are among the best in LA County.

Speaking of which, BEG.  OC Marketplace--aka a big friggin huge flea market down at the OC Fairgrounds nearly every weekend.  You will learn to love this place.

That is how I always thought it was, you were out by closing but our realtor said it is customary here in CA to give the previous owners three days after closing to get out.  Our sellers (well the husband) is in a wheel chair so it doesn't bother us too much.

After we made our offer I got buyers remorse and wished that it didn't appraise or they found something at the inspection.  Now I want it to pass inspection with every fiber of my being because it really was the best house we saw out there.

As a realtor, it makes me real tense to have sellers stay past closing....I've had it be ok ...and not be ok. You would be amazed at the damage 4 parrots, who are let loose in a house, can do!!!  :o

You sound like my brother re: the buyer's remorse. He didn't want to move...they lived inside the Chicago city limits with a really good elementary school across the street (old neigborhood, 3 story old, old schoolhouse, charming area)...but my SIL works in Northbrook and wanted the kids in school closer than 45 minutes away in case of emergency. So they were only looking in Northbrook. The first house had water problems in the basement. The house they are getting is a similar situation to yours...it's the best they could find in a hurry and agree on. My SIL was insisting they buy and he wanted to rent and really take time to find what they wanted. The prices there are almost as bad as where you are...I was stunned....3x's what it would have been here for a similar house in the best school district!!! I keep telling myself that I would make a lot more money in a market like that...but then I see the cost of living....and it would all be relative.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

You seem to have a good attitude about all of this. Sorry you have to stay at a hotel for a month though. Hope the move goes smoothly for you once you close on the house.

Welcome to Cali. Cheer up, at least you don't live in the Central Valley where right now it is 102. And that is a NICE day.

Damn, after reading the title, I thought this was going to be something else.  :lmao:

Ok I officially can't bitch if you had to live 46 days in a hotel room with no kitchen and all those pets (and kids).

Sure you can bitch...just realize, it could be worse!  :-)

I'm glad you made it safe too BEG. I know it's like living in limbo but like Flame said, it could be worse.

I think once you get moved in, you'll feel a whole lot better. Keep us posted!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I just drove through Corinth today. They opened the Lake Lewisville Toll Bridge yesterday.
