Like the way it used to be?  nah, long gone.

RN is a shell of its former self. It is like having Lori Drew running a forum. NU is just as bad as well.

Maybe it's coincidental, but lounge traffic seemed to drop off when WE slowed down on his posting. Where is WE?

Now that brings up an interesting point.  If there are 10,000 items of traffic on each of two forums, but on one of them it is from many OPs, and on the other it is largely from 2 or 3 stream-of-consciousness posters who treat the forum as their own personal Twitter, is the second really all that successful?  That sort of Twitter-like posting just doesn't really appeal to me, though a lot of people seem to either do it or like living vicariously through it.

WE's Friday night threads always had the potential to go at least 250+ posts on some nights. I bet his absence definitely made a dent in The Lounge. Those were the threads that I enjoyed the most sometimes.

That's an eminently valid objection; it's very true.

But that requires more sophisticated "market development" than what I'm able to do at the moment.

(1) get numbers up.
(2) improve the quality.

I'm still on (1), but am confident all good things come in time.

I think it comes down to the number of replies generated by the posts rather than the number of threads started.

Only if you ignore the amount of self-kicking in those threads, which was huge.
