Mad About You

With the exception of CSI, which dwells entirely too much on already disproven urban myths, the rest is liberal dreck.

Any more reason why anyone with a qualifying IQ need not join MENSA (or is that MENSTURAtional whiny beyatches)?

I used to watch Mad About You some.  It seemed to me all romantic stuff, not political at all, really.  Not really genius IQ stuff either.  Just light comedy.  Of course, I didn't see too many episodes, maybe they had "Very Special Mad About Yous" that dealt with that stuff.  But I would never guess.  It just seemed really light.

Nope!  I used to participate in a nascent (or possibly outlaw) chapter when I was in college, but figured out pretty early on that most of the people who had actually paid the dues were either doing it because they wanted to accumulate a resume point or had self-esteem issues.  Everyone else was content to spend their dues money on beer instead (me included).

On edit:  I guess the dues-payers don't watch anything besides network TV, I sure didn't see "The Red Green Show" or my fave Britcoms on there (Red Dwarf, Black Adder, and AbFab).  Also kinda surprised Star Trek didn't make it, I suppose it wasn't political enough for them and actually showed a military-based organization in a favorable light.

My husband belongs to Mensa. They are nothing but DUmmies who passed a qualifying exam. We no longer attend any of the functions or SIGs.

I kind of think that's the fake list for the public.  The real list wouldn't have Mad About You and would have Star Trek.  I think they just left off Star Trek and put Mad About You on there to try and attract some damn wommen folk.

And where's Futurama?  That show actually was very smart at time as well as being very liberal at times.

Mash?  That is just so boring  Futurama got Mash down in a 2 minute bit.

At least they didn't list that awful Seinfeld.  Other than his stand-up at the beginning, that was the most un-funny show ever.

Have to agree on Futurama, also great use of 3D rendering software in the animation, which totally rocks.

I'd like to add Northern Exposure to this list. It was definitely a liberal-leaning sort of show, but it often investigated both sides of philosophical debates in a way I've never seen on network TV.

As for the West Wing, it had its moments, but it was essentially an extended liberal wet dream, where the president is a New England liberal who also relates to the common man, always wins when he goes up against congress, and kicks the faceless Republican's ass in the debate. Yawn...
