You're a good son, Rob. My neighbor passed away yesterday at age 88. In fact, he had his 88th birthday on 8/8/08 last year... He and his wife had been married for 64 years, can you imagine? He was put into a home in the early spring after he broke his leg and was in a wheel chair. He also was diagnosed with Alzheimers 4 years ago....Long story short, he was the first neighbor to welcome us 18 years ago and was like a grandpa to our 3 kids. Well even though he didn't know us from adam (since the onset of alzheimers), he always greeted us like he was just so damn glad to meet us. That's just who he was.

RIP to your father and Irv.

I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor. Prayers for his wife. Alzheimers is such a sad illness.

The flu brought on increased Asthma issues for my mom. The lung x-ray showed a spot. She is wating for the CT scan to be approved. Hopefully it's nothing. We wait. My sister is already telling her about cancer doctors in Nebraska. I should kick her ass. I called and left my sister a message Monday about the x-ray, she never did return my call or call my mom. Now she is trying to get my mom to move there.  :censored:

I'll say a prayer for your mom as well. Your sister probably means well... but I agree, too soon to fret about something that might not be. And sometimes, things like these are a blessing in disguise, don't ask me why, God's plan is one that always surprises me.

Thanks.

Yes, my sister is jumping the gun.

My sister would hate to have the inconvenience of having to visit my mom in Nevada. Afterall, it does take two hours to fly here.  :censored: :-)

Better late than never:

--Had pizza from the local joint.  Buffalo chicken with bleu cheese sauce instead of tomato sauce.  Yummy.  Shock Top beer.  Also yummy.  Sat on the porch and got eaten by skeeters while I threw the tennis balls around for the dog.

And yeah, Rob--I hope it's not serious with your mom.  I've got to fly out to AZ next weekend.  Will talk more about it later.

Sounds you had a good night, pizza sounds good right now.

Thanks, I'm sure she will be fine. But if not, I'm her neighbor & fully prepared to do what ever it takes to care for her. That is why I moved here.
