"V" the remake

V-Upfront trailer...

Hat tip to Hot Air and Allahpundit who had the following to say...
Quote
If you’re my age, the news that they’re bringing back “V” will make your heart leap with joy; I can’t believe there was a kid who watched it who didn’t love it, but doubtless I’ll be corrected about that at length in the comments. Never mind that, though. Follow the plot arc here: A savior with seemingly supernatural powers comes to rescue mankind, and is adoringly embraced by a public desperate for Hope. Not until it’s almost too late do they realize the Change they were promised isn’t quite what the increasingly sinister savior has in mind. (The words “hope” and “change” actually do appear at critical moments here in the trailer.) It’s the most conservative new series on television, right down to the detail about a lapdog media! Or at least, it would be if Hollywood had the stones to criticize The One. Nothing more than a big coincidence, I’m sure — although if the lizard people are shown using this as a gesture of greeting, all bets are off.
fwiw- neither Allahpundit nor I think the Hopenchange allegory is intentional.

I liked the show when I was a kid. Hope the new version is as fun.

Is this a remake of the television show?  If so.......................................................bleh.

I saw the trailer at work this morning.

I loved the original mini series when it came out.    1983 ?

I think I can watch the remake.

Never heard of this show before today.

I had read Childhood's End for the first time just a few weeks before I saw the first promo's for the original mini-series back in the 1980's and I was hoping this would be some version of that.  But it was pretty good anyway.  Seeing some pictures from the original show, those red jumpsuits sure look cheezy today but they seemed to fit in at the time.

Meh, it's was the 80's man. That show was RAD.

Is Marc Singer the priest in the promo?

I remember the Visitors joke from the original series that Marc Singer's character's kid told him:

How many Visitors does it take to screw in a light bulb?

None! The Visitors prefer the dark.
