Places you have lived.
« on: May 05, 2009, 01:58:06 AM »
Post a picture of a city or town where you have lived.

I moved to this town in 2nd Grade, 1800 residents, we lived outside of town in a rural subdivison.

The town was about 30 minutes from both Rock Island & Galesburg, IL

I'm no city kid.  :-)

The church where my wife and I were married.

One of the few remaining depots left from the Interurban Train system that ran in Illinois.

Last I heard it was an antique store, but was going to close.

Austin, Texas where I grew up:

State Capitol

Texas History Museum

The house I grew up in.  Took the pic off of StreetView.  The left end of the house was remodeled after we moved away.

I lived too many places to post pictures but here is a map with the areas highlighted.

Mama, nobody said you had to post from EVERYWHERE, just pic one.

Actually, the one I got from home was actually on city-data.com.  You might be surprised what you find.

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

Bellingham, WA. Lived there 2002-2005. Probably one of my favorite places ever. Of course, I had to suffer a multitude of fools, but I got around that by avoiding the riff-raff. One day I hope to move back.

Seattle, of course.

And Dallas, where I was born and raised.

Moline, IL-Bettendorf, IA with the Mississppi River in between.

Moline is the home of the John Deere world headquarters and the John Deere Pavilion & Museum

The US Army Rock Island Arsenal (IL) in the middle of the Mississippi...

Sure, living close to Vegas is neat....but there was alot more cool stuff to see, spread out over many miles, in some of the other places I have lived & worked.
