04-23 Thursday
« on: April 23, 2009, 06:55:58 AM »
Well, yesterday in the Sandhills of Nebraska, it was warm and sunny.

And today it's supposed to be sunny and 87 degrees.

Damn.

I hung new venetian blinds yesterday; today I think I'll scrub the ceilings, and change the air in the tires of the automobile.

Nice day in the makings here...sunny and about 65!  Two ball games on the schedule for tonight.

Have some housekeeping duties to attend this morning, then I may go shopping with a friend to get something to wear to the Gala at SERBA in a couple weeks.

Supposed to be something like 87 here on Saturday...not sure if I'll know how to act!

The day after Erf Day....doesn't seem like anything changed.  Teh eeeeevil sun rose in the east and will set in the west.  Teh Rookie is still in the White House and algore is still an idiot.

The Mrs and I received an invitation to go to our High School reunion.  Should be fun having dinner with all those old folks.   :old:

I just realized last night that my 40th HS reunion will be next year.....I AM NOT OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL 40 YEARS!!!!!   :bird:

After all....I have the chicken pox! :lmao: I donot have enough "happy" pills to make me happy right now.... :bawl:

It's a bee-u-ti-ful day in the neighborhood! Sun's out, the wind has finally died down (we lost power in our subdivision for 6 hrs Tuesday afternoon because a tree fell on some lines....over 1000 homes lost power!!! :o)
Supposed to be in the 70-80's the next several days....going to try to get the pool pressure washed, repair the hairline cracks, paint it and fill it before the rains hit again middle of next week. It's painted white now, I'm trying to talk M into a blue....he's an engineer....I'm not making much progress... :whatever:

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

Sorry to hear about the chicken pox, Deb.  I've been nursing a sore knee for a couple of weeks now, and I think I'm finally going to break down and buy some Salonpas for them after work.

Just found out that we're going back to the regular 5-8's schedule in two weeks, so tomorrow is my second-to-last "off Friday", dammit.  Going to do some more yard work and break out the chaise lounge chairs I bought at Cabela's on sale.

Clearing out today, but cool and breezy.  55 and spotty showers today, but 70 tomorrow, 81 on Saturday, and 84 on Sunday.  WOOT!!!!

You better hurry with that painting.  Rain is on the way right now....you will probably get it this evening.   :innocent:

We won't be painting until the weekend or first of the week. Have to empty it again, every time we get it empty, it rains again. Then my job is to pressure wash it. Then I guess we have to use this marble/cement dust to fix the cracks and where the surface has chipped off. Then paint.

Right now...I'm trying not to claw my back to shreds....  <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZN%2526i%253D15%252F15%255F6%255F2%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank">SmileyCentral.com" border="0

Well, wasn't that fun. All my morning classes were cancelled because of some school function. So I slept in late, then went to the Student Veterans Association meeting at noon. Walked out of there at 1245 as the Vice President for next school year, if I end up not transferring... Color me shocked. Oh well, should be fun. And will look good on my resume.

Atlanta is in the middle of getting poured on.  West Texas is getting some rain as well.

Layoffs at work today.  :bawl: I'm safe, but our team of 18 is down to 14, and two are out on Maternity Leave.  Some major work distribution is going to be required for tomorrow.
