Her outfit to meet the Queen is probably the only thing they got right.  It is proper to dress simple, as does the Queen, in order not to draw attention away from the Queen.   MO's simple b&w daytime skirt, blouse, and sweater was just tasteful and dowdy enough.  The double strand of pearls should have been cut down to a single strand, but pobody's nerfect.

I thought her outfit was too casual as well. Then again, she's made a lot of fashion mis-steps. I don't get why women ooh and ahh all over her choices. Quite frankly, she's hit or miss in my book.

The cardigan and simple white shirt look like J Crew or something more suitable for a Sunday afternoon. Not a audience with the Queen.

According to a report that was given the other night.....the Obamas were "coached" on proper etiquette when meeting the Queen.

How to shake hands...one hand only and I saw the way her hand was to be taken - barely touching her fingers, no shaking, squeezing and only take her hand after she puts her hand out first.

Apparently ...the lesson was not absorbed.

Some British guy on the Today show, said she was properly dressed for meeting the Queen....another Brit was on Fox last night and said so too.

I wasn't sure about when she was pictured later with the jacket/sweater off, and it was a close fitting tank top. Heck, this is the woman who was photographed planting a garden in a skirt and high heeled boots!  ::)(I was just working in mine in sweat pants, a tshirt and crocs....but then I was actually digging and planting and getting dirty.)

I thought so too, that it was buttoned wrong, but I saw another picture and it appears that her right arm bunched the sweater up a bit.  Here's a pic that shows that the buttons are lined up.



Apparently this is the new style, a lady at work who watches Ugly Betty said it reminded her of stuff she's seen on it (I don't watch that show).  I don't really care for this look.  I like the dress, shoes and sweater, just not together.  But then I dress pretty plainly.
