I don't eat candy any more and I miss it most now -- I loved those Sweethearts with "be mine" and the like.

Those things that taste like flavored chalk? Ugh.. no thanks.

Anyways, Happy V Day everybody.

no kidding... do they even make them anymore?

we dont celebrate the hallmark stuff here, but the kiddos enjoy it so we play along on a small scale..

I like to buy a bag of black and orange Halloween M&Ms, wait until Valentine's and buy a package of the red and pink M&Ms, separate both bag into colors, then mix the pink ones with the black ones and the orange ones with the red ones.  I don't know why.

It is like Peeps -- people either love them or hate them.  I think maybe they subconsciously remind me of simpler times.

M&Ms jumped the shark when they let people write their own messages on them.

I like M&Ms.  I like them because they melt in my mouth, not in my hand.  The writing on them dissolves away pretty quickly.

Anyone who still supports a holiday that has become totally commercialized ought to be  :hammer:

 Yeah, I am cranky.

Happy Valentine's Day to those who actually still celebrate it.

I bought my own candy, some very dark chocolate, and it is yummy.  It's the only thing making me feel better right now.

I don't really, but it was funny making the boxes and bags for valentine's loot with the children. They just eat this stuff up.

Oh, I know kids enjoy it, and I am glad they do.  I miss those days, actually.  LOL

yeah ok.... want to trade places with me today at 2:30 with nine hopped up eight year olds?

Sure... LOL!  :p

Yeah, I can see that. Same thing with Candy Corn I guess.

Me and my wife are just going to go out to a nice meal just to get out and relax for a little bit. We also made a Valentine's Day compromise.... I watch Sleepless in Seattle with her, and she takes me to Guitar Center later to "browse". That's about it. I spent a lot of the roses and chocolates money on her Christmas present.  :-)

More proof that Valentine's Day is just another bullshit holiday invented so women could get more useless shit we can't afford to buy them.

Other than that, Happy Valentine's Day!

Ahh, a true romantic..lol

Yep--that's me.  I won't get into my marital situation but rest assured, it ain't Ozzie and Harriet.

No need...I was just being a smartass.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

That is what my husband said too  :whatever: I got a nice new laptop, a really expensive digital camera (with interchangable lenses...that I won't ever use), and a nice necklace.

My birthday is in January.

Feb. is Valentine's.

March is our anniversary.

May is Mother's Day.

And, he thinks he can try to compensate for all  5 things in one holiday, with Christmas...he'd better think again and get on board  :-)

Today was interesting.

Some girl at work (that I would really rather not have to be around) had a breakdown.  She bought her husband an HDTV for Valentines Day.  He did nothing.  No candy.  No flowers.  Not even a card.  It was kind of sad.  She made it to about 10:00 and fell apart.

Oh well.  Been there, done that.  Don't care to visit.
