Shawn, we're diverse. There are issues that I disagree on with some posters here. I'm an independent, former Libertarian. I voted for Perot (twice) but voted for Bush, twice. I was in the military during Clinton's two terms. I'm socially-libertarian/liberal and fiscally to the right of Attila.

....but they don't ban people here for their views.

They're all deadly, Shawn. I could take a Remington 1100, remove the plug, and load it with single ought and kill 30 people. All I would need is a 9MM to hold the people off while I reloaded.


BTW, can you guys assure us that while you're prohibiting law-abiding citizens from owning AK's that the criminals will be regulated as well? If not, then you have no case. The USSC has ruled that cops don't have an obligation to protect you. They're there to investigate. They are after the fact. ....as in, after you've been shot they try to find out who did it. Does that do any good for you?

Criminals don't follow laws.....no matter how many you pass.

Amen.  And if people KNEW how "thin" the thin blue line REALLY was, you'd see a lot more people going around armed.

I live in a town of 30,000, and unless it's armed robbery, murder, rape, the cops are simply spread too thin to respond.  I found out one evening that on a typical Friday or Saturday night, there are EIGHT cops on duty, two of which are at the station/dispatch.

SIX police for a town of 30K, spread out over about 50 square miles of jurisdiction.  LOTS of little back roads, etc.

911 is nothing more than government sponsored Dial-A-Prayer.

You don't happen to post at Newsbusters, do you? I know a Shawn there, and if I was using my SN from there here, he would know me.

 The reason I use the dorky one I have, is this is the name my daughter made for me the day she got her first computer about 11 yrs ago. I keep it as my default go-to name. I have never really blogged until the last two years. I suck at computer stuff, for one thing. I used to be so busy with running my business, my kids were still younger teens, and so I just didn't. Now, I have too much free time, hate tv, and mostly just read. I never thought of being anything BUT Conservative, my whole family is, it was how I was raised, and I never was near a lib until college, and other than the profs didn't meet that many of those where I went to schoool.
