Clinton Campaign Manager Resigns
« on: February 10, 2008, 04:04:14 PM »

Quote
Patti Solis Doyle has quit her job as Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign manager, but said Sunday she will remain a senior adviser.

In a campaign memo sent to staff, Doyle said she has been on the trail for a year, and the sacrifices have been great.

“This has already been the longest presidential campaign in the history of our nation, and one that has required enormous sacrifices from all of us and our families,” Doyle wrote. “I have been proud to manage this campaign, and prouder still to call Hillary my friend for more than 16 years. I know that she will make a great president.”

Doyle said Maggie Williams, a senior adviser to the Clinton campaign, will take her place. Doyle said that the transition will be seamless since she and Williams are longtime friends and have been working toward this goal for a month.

Campaign officials told FOX News that Doyle was not asked to step down, and the switch does not signal that the campaign is in any different position than it was the day before. The announcement came one day after Clinton opponent Barack Obama swept three state races — in Washington, Nebraska and Louisiana.

Gee wiz -- and who started the idea that the election cycle starts the moment you win the previous election?

The people of New York should sue Hitlery for reimbursement of her Senate salary,  since she hasn't done anything but campaign for the last several years.

Wasn't she the one rumored to be Hildabeast's bed warmer? Lotta' good that did.

There is actually one important fact here, which is that the new manager is female vise the expunged male, in a campaign already heavy with women at the controls.  I sense this signals the start of a full-on press for the female vote in a campaign that to this point has downplayed the gender card in order to run on "The issues" and "Experience."  Now we will be hearing a lot about "The issues" if they are ones that matter to the female middle-to-left demographic, and "
Experience" will be broadened to include Mom time (although utterly bogus in Hillary's case, the targer demographic isn't troubled by facts if feelings can be supplied for them).  They will be particularly on the prowl for something that can make Black women think "Woman first, Black second," though since Barack is a good-looking devil, it's also going to have to be something with anti-male overtones which will carry over to him.

hate to disagree with you here, DA, but I think Hilary is in free fall ... she's going to fire anyone who isnt bringing her delegates on a silver platter. although her old manager is still with the campaign in a 'mentor' type role.

if Hilary keeps touting that 'i am woman' crapolla, it wont her anywhere. most women, even Dems, want someone who can do the job - not make it a gender thing.

Well no wonder she's out -

Clearly she's a Republican operative - look at how attractive she is. :-)

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I think you're misunderestimating her strategery.
