"Earth Hour" is coming on the end of the month...let's make our OWN statement...

On March 29th, starting at 8:30 pm locally in most cities in the world, everyone is supposed to turn their lights off and use no electricity for an hour for "awareness" crap.

I say we do the opposite. We turn on EVERY LIGHT in the house, we turn on all our appliances and TV's, lawn sprinklers, etc. In other words. In fact, go rent some outdoor lights for the night and turn THEM on on your property. It probably won't cost more than an additional 5% of your monthly bill, but if we can get a BUNCH of people to at least turn ALL their lights one, we can show everyone off.

For the most part, I'm very frugal with my own appliances, but only because it costs unnecessary money to turn on the lights. I am extremely angry that the libs and the feel good police are FORCING inane, STUPID STUNTS like "Earth Hour". Imagine MILLIONS of Reagan-Limbaugh conservatives ACROSS THE NATION in SOLIDARITY by TURNING UP THE LIGHTS during the VERY hour that all the minions have turned off themselves.

Let's build on this. Any more ideas??

I hadn't heard about earth hour this year. Last year was a flop by all accounts so I shall do my part to make it fail again.

Last year I had every light in the house on as well as all outside and garage lights.

I don't think a single damn person noticed or cared.

The cable access channel has been turned into the Mayor Dean propaganda channel.  Any stupid idea our new mayor has gets pimped out to the public; this was the first place I heard about this.  The city is participating in this.

No, we should all get behind this. I mean take it to the extreme, shut down all electric consumption for one hour. Don't even have the digital clock on the VCR, TV, etc. working. Hell, pull the meter out on the side of your house at exactly 8:30 ET, 7:30 CT and 6:30 on the west coast.

If you know any thing about electrical power generation, you'll understand. After that hour when the DUmmies flip the light switches on and the lights don't come back on, maybe a few of them will get a clue as to how it all works. It would take at least hours to put everything back back on line, maybe even days or weeks. 

I would survive, you'd survive, but the question is, would the DUmmies survive their own stupidity?......I think not.....It would be well worth the inconvenience to just watch them rant and rave about the national disaster situation their stupid little stunt caused.

The flaw in your logic is assuming the DUmmies will practice as they preach and actually turn anything off.

Normally, I don't advocate such lunacy as that I proposed. I'm a non-idiotic type of guy that doesn't advocate fighting stupidity on a small basis. I'm actually hoping that Limbaugh would pick up on this so he can work his own magic with HIS 14 million unique listeners. Now THAT would be epic!

I kind of remember this from sometime in the past, I remember turning on all the lights and appliances in my house.  Some lights for a couple of days because I forgot about the ones in the basement
