Octuplet Grand-Mother from California NOT HAPPY
« on: January 31, 2009, 08:03:32 PM »
LOS ANGELES – The woman who gave birth to octuplets this week conceived all 14 of her children through in vitro fertilization, is not married and has been obsessed with having children since she was a teenager, her mother said.

Link -Associated Press-

"She told me that all of her kids were through in vitro, and I said 'Gosh, how can you afford that and go to school at the same time?"' she added. "And she said it's because she got paid for it."

I was astonished at first, by the sheer bewilderment of the feat... but the more I hear... the more I'm seriously disturbed by it all...

Is this a discussion on this?

My opinion after reading her mother talk about her. She's mentally unstable. If this was a stateside doctor who agreed this was a good idea then he should be receiving the bill to take care of these kids for his irresponsibility. Which makes me wonder, do RE's even require one be mentally sound before they implant this many of them? I mean, ok, maybe they can't tell with the first 2, but what person would put in 8 when she had 6 already and has some compulsion with having children?

I agree whole heartedly.
