TEHRAN (IRNA) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Saturday strongly condemned the performance of the United Nations in dealing with the horrific crimes of the Zionists in Gaza and called for a fundamental change in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Speaking to Basiji (voluntary forces) staff of the Presidential office on Saturday, the president said the both structure and the venue of UNSC should be changed.

Unilateral and inhuman decisions made by the UNSC are worthless for world nations, he said.

It is quite obvious that the UN cannot carry out its duties properly because if someone wishes to go to the UN, he or she should wait about three months to get visa from the U.S., he underlined.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to allocate a suitable place for the United Nation headquarters, the president suggested.

The UN was established to establish security and defend the independence and freedom of nations, he said, adding that a number of prominent leaders including the late Imam Khomeini were opposed to establishment of the UN by hegemonic powers.

UNSC has been turned into a tool in the hands of the U.S. to pursue its goals, he said, adding that the United Nations has been restricted to the UNSC which is under influence of the U.S. which spares no efforts to back the Zionists.

The UN should undergo a fundamental change in order to defend the rights of nations, he said.

UN should have been abolished 10 years or more ago.

It is little more than the mouthpiece for a collection of kleptocratic dictators, pathetic euro-serfs and corrupt criminals.

Kick em outta NYC and ship the whole show off to fwanth. Let the frogs deal with it for a few decades. Wave from the docks.

Without US muscle and money people would pay them even less attention than they do now.

Oh... and as for the UN being a "tool of the jooooooooooooooooooooooooooos" , how many UN resolutions and demands have been made of Israel over the years. Compare this to they way the palestinians displaced arabs are treated.

I agree.   The UN needs to get the heck out of the United States.  Anywhere but here and I will sign the paperwork tomorrow.

Without US protection and they would never seat a council.    Move it to Baghdad.   The only members who would show up for a meeting would be the US, GB, Poland and Australia.    The rest of the cowards would phone it in.

Same here.  I see a trend building.
