The deer babies apparently have been cut loose from their mommas.Just went back into our bedroom and 2 little does and a little buck were eating and playing right outside the window. We were back there watching them for about 15 minutes. The bottom of the window is only about a foot up from the floor and I don't have any window coverings so they have just as clear a look in as we do out. I was sitting on a little stool near the floor and one of the cats was sitting in the window sill in front of me. Skyy wasn't all that interested in the little deer girl that I thought was going to come almost all the way up to the house. There's a magnolia tree outside that window, and she just kept coming closer. Her curiousity was on overdrive. She's so cute and her little legs are so fragile looking. She was fascinated by Skyy. This is the first time I've seen the babies without their mommas. We still have a set of twins wandering around with their momma. They were born late and are just about done losing their spots.

You forgot possiums. They are demon spawn that God should have let drowned in the Flood.
Not sure what they are classified as but gray squirrel is good eating as small game goes.Rabbit is too, while raccoon is okay and woodchuck is the bottom as far as things I have had.
Ever have venison chilli? EXCELENT!
Moose and squirrel chili.
I like Magic Hat chili... whatever I pull out of the refrigerator goes into it.
:-)I usually use beef. The Expired Meat counter is a great place to trim your grocery budget. I only get something exotic when my stepdad has to put one of his animals down.
IMO, there should be nothing "quick" abut chilli. Put it on the stove (or in the oven) and let it cook slowly for a day or so.
