The USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN looked like ass!

What a ****ing shitshow and embarrassment! They should have put the ****ing squeaky tank tread sound over the video of that rust-bucket limping into Pattaya.

If you know me, I served 28.5 years in the United States Navy. This is NOT how it's ****ing done. We would NEVER have "shown our ass" like that in my ****ing Navy.

This is just another example of piss poor leadership. If there were still ****ing sane people in charge, they would have stopped this shit

Pulling into Pattaya is what ****ing National Guard PRT coordinator Whiskey Pete wanted. This is his idea of "masculine lethality". Pull into the capital of prostitution and sex-trafficking, because his Sailors deserve to get drunk and "enjoy" the "spoils of war:

I am telling you...none of my ships would have pulled into port looking like straight-up ass, no matter how long we had been at sea.

They could have gone pierside in Guam. The media frenzy could have been contained, the ship could have gotten some much needed repair and upkeep, and the Sailors could have still gotten some much needed liberty. It's just that there's a smaller red-light district in Guam.

I have NEVER been so ****ing embarrassed to be a retired Naval officer, but the adults in the room, who could and should have made the decision, have been replaced by drunkass frat boys, who think being in the military means ****ing all the hookers they can afford.

What a ****ing goatrope!

22. So in your 28+ years you've never seen rusty as hell navy ships after a long time at sea?

28 years right? From 2023:

Quote
The U.S. Navy has an inherently high operational tempo [around the world]. The vast majority of Navy ships are made of steel, which incurs corrosion from exposure to seawater. As such, any scratches or wear in coatings that expose steel on ships will result in corrosion and rust staining. It’s important to note that for our ships and crews, shipboard preservation never stops. Our crews devote considerable time and effort to preserving and maintaining the interior-exterior areas of ships while balancing operational requirements and adhering to Navy shipboard procedures and environmental regulations. We take a methodical approach to preserving our ships, synchronizing efforts with other maintenance requirements to ensure ships are ready and fully mission capable.”

Regarding the destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55), U.S. Navy’s Spc. Jason Pastrick said that its “rust was quickly removed and the ship repainted” after its October 12, 2020 return to home port at Naval Station Norfolk, illustrating the U.S. Navy’s never-ending battle against the elements of the weather and the salty seas

1. I thought there might be enough former navy people and informed people on DU that this stupidity would either be avoided or shut down quick, hard, and cold. I'm too kind. The first - and possibly only - dose of inconvenient reality didn't get posted until Reply #22 (my emphasis).

2. Most of the Replies I saw were focused on Thailand's sex tourism "industry".

Peeling back maxrandb's lies:

3. Either maxrandb served in the USN 28+ years and is lying, playing off DU-folks ignorance and Trump Hatred, or he's lying about having served in the USN. Steel warships deployed for several months rust. The rust on USS Abraham Lincoln is normal for her ~9 month (average for a USN carrier) deployment.

4. The fact maxrandb dishonestly omitted is that USS Abraham Lincoln did not port in Pattaya. The Abraham Lincoln entered the port of Laem Chabang, which is about 7 miles north of Pattaya. That port was chosen for relative proximity and its ability to handle a 100K+-ton ship, not sex tourism. There is a Thai naval base about 15 miles south of Pattaya, but it may not be able to handle a ship as large as the USS Abraham Lincoln. As frank often said, "Dummies lie ...,": maxrandb lied by omission to slander the navy in which he claimed to serve.
Whose Shampeachment Is It Anyway, where the high crimes are made up, and the evidence doesn't matter
