We all remember the story of Fang Fang, the Chinese spy who allegedly approached Rep. Eric Swalwell when he was still a city council member in Dublin, CA. She allegedly helped with fundraising for his 2014 run for congress. In 2015, Swalwell got a tip from the FBI that Fang Fang was a spy and then cut off contact with her. Swalwell has repeatedly denied having any relationship with her beyond meeting her in a professional capacity.

Today there is another story apparently coming together behind the scenes involving Swalwell and alleged sexual harassment involving multiple women. What takes this past the rumors stage is that the person highlighting these claims is a progressive attorney named Cheyenne Hunt who runs a site called Gen Z for Change. She is on Swalwell's side of the aisle but says she found out about this issue because a personal friend came forward about it. She posted a video about it on Tik Tok which has since been re-posted on X.

The key allegation here, and again this hasn't been verified by any major news outlet yet, is that Swalwell has a habit of sleeping with his staffers and interns and then relying on an NDA to keep it quiet.

Last night, Cheyenne Hunt posted a thread on X going into more detail. Hunt says she is working with a group of women who are currently speaking with reporters about their experiences.

A key point to note here is that Cheyenne Hunt is a Prog political operative, not anything Trump/MAGA (contrary to a Swillwell claim).

Yesterday I wrote about the allegations that had started to circle around Rep. Swalwell as he campaigns for governor of California. A progressive Democrat named Cheyenne Hunt put out videos on TikTok alleging that a friend of hers had been sexually harassed by Swalwell and that, since talking about it, other women had come forward. In a thread on Twitter, Hunt claimed she was helping connect these women with reporters and that another, larger group of women were independently talking to reporters.

Today, Swalwell's campaign responded to the allegations by denying everything.

A spokesman for Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading Democratic candidate for California governor, on Tuesday denounced online claims that the congressman had inappropriate relationships with young congressional staff members.

“This false, outrageous rumor is being spread 27 days before an election begins by flailing opponents who have sadly teamed up with MAGA conspiracy theorists because they know Eric Swalwell is the frontrunner in this race,” said spokesman Micah Beasley in a statement that was first reported by Politico...

“In 13 years, no one in Eric Swalwell’s Congressional office has ever been asked to sign an NDA. Ever,” Beasley said. “In 13 years, not a single ethics complaint by any staff in his office or any other office has ever been lodged. Ever.”

I think Swillwell is lying, but posting his denial is minimally fair.

Former Staffer Claims Rep. Swalwell Assaulted Her, Current Staffers Resign (Update)

The source of these claims, Cheyenne Hunt, is a progressive political insider who claimed she was friends with one of the women and wanted to spread the word so that more women would come forward to share their experiences. She claimed that was indeed happening behind the scenes.

What was lacking was confirmation in the form of a published story by a major news outlet. As recently as Wednesday, Hunt was telling people those stories were coming but needed to be vetted first to ensure they would be air-tight.

Today, the San Francisco Chronicle published the first such story. It's headlined, "Former staffer says Rep. Eric Swalwell, candidate for California governor, sexually assaulted her."

A woman who worked for nearly two years for Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading candidate for California governor, said she had sexual encounters with him while he was her boss and alleged he twice sexually assaulted her when she was too intoxicated to consent...

The woman said Swalwell began pursuing her within weeks after she was hired at age 21 to work in the Democrat’s district office in Castro Valley in 2019. Swalwell messaged her on Snapchat, she said, sending images of his genitals and seeking nude pictures of her in return.

The Chronicle shared a summary of the woman's allegations with Swalwell's campaign prior to the publication of the story. Late last night the campaign sent the woman a cease and desist letter. The first page of that letter was posted today by Cheyenne Hunt who said she had been given permission to share it.

The Chronicle reports that in addition to threatening the woman with a lawsuit for defamation, the letter said, "the credibility of your accusations is fatally undermined by your voluntary and cooperative relationship with Mr. Swalwell over the course of many years following the period in question."

My emphasis. For chronological reference, Swillwell married his current wife in 2016. The Comical is not a conservative paper. Also, it's an SF paper, and Swillwell's district is just across San Francisco Bay and a little south of SF.

My confirmation bias is obvious, but I think you don't have to look too deeply between the lines to see that the cease-and-desist letter all but admits their relationship had been more than business at the office.

ETA: The LA Times, SacBee, SJ Murky Skews, and San Diego Union-Tribune have articles about this story. The Orange County Register just has an opinion piece that is behind their paywall that seems to be about it. The faucet is dripping pretty hard/fast.

Trump? Cheyenne Hunt is a Dem/Prog political operative. She probably has a hard time saying his name without an expletive. Not that Trump would mind Swillwell crashing and burning due to zipper control issues.

Katie Porter or Tom Steyer? Not impossible, and Porter seems to be a b#$%h-boss misandrist, but ...

Cheyenne Hunt? Hunt has said that she's doing this simply to expose Swillwell for what he is. That may be, though even if Swillwell is all she says he is and worse, I do not think the CA Dem Party will be thrilled with her taking out their trash.

Earlier in the night at a bar, he kissed her and touched her leg without her consent, she said...

For the woman who connected online with Swalwell over Democratic politics, a family member and two friends confirmed she told them last year about the incident where she ended up intoxicated in his hotel room. CNN also reviewed messages between her and Swalwell, including a photo he sent her that matches footage of him during a CNN interview in her city on the night they met in person.

The other two women claim that Swalwell sent them nude photos on Snapchat. One of the women is identified as Ally Sammarco.

While I'm glad Swillwell is getting Me-Too'ed, I do wonder why the MSM have picked up on the story. I wonder whether there's more going on than just the initial source being a Prog political operative (= "safe").

BREAKING: Eric Swalwell under investigation by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for sexual assault

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced on Saturday that Rep. Eric Swalwell is under investigation for alleged sexual assault from 2024 involving a former staffer. The investigation was launched after multiple women alleged sexual misconduct by Swalwell on Friday.

A former staffer of Swalwell's claimed to CNN that after she was heavily intoxicated she was raped by the congressman in an incident that left her bloody and bruised, “I was pushing him off of me, saying no. He didn't stop." That incident took place in 2024 after she had stopped working in the congressman's office. The unidentified woman said that it happened in 2019 when she was still working for him and alleged that she woke up naked on the bed with Swalwell after drinking.

I'm not sure what Swillwell's "alleged" horndogging has to do with NYC.

Rep. Luna Filing Motion to Expel Swalwell Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Texas, says she is filing a motion to expel Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., who has been accused of sexual assault by a former staffer.

Luna made the comment in a series of posts on X. She also called on Swalwell to resign from his post.

“So, the Dems don’t want Swalwell to be governor of California, but he can stay a member of Congress? Are we running a halfway house for sexual predators in Congress now? No,” she said.

While I am very inclined to believe the claims against Swillwell, I think the claims need to be verified before kicking Swillwell out of Congress.

The democrats are doing this because their candidates for governor of California are refusing to drop out and because the democrats came up with the crazy jungle primary bullshit, if some of the democratic candidates don’t drop out the Republican will win.

Live over 1,000 miles away, but I would find it delicious and a possibility that the stupid jungle primary might get both Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco in the run-off. If that occurred, I'm sure Judge Boesberg will declare it invalid or something like that.

Under CA's "jungle primary" system - against which I voted, BTW - the top two vote getters would be on the November ballot, regardless of party. The polling in the past couple of months had Bianco, Hilton, and Swillwell (alphabetic order) as the three highest %s. The reason both Rs have been so high is that the Dems have something like 8 candidates spreading out Dem potential voters. From that perspective, the Dems "needed" to cull out most of their candidates to avoid the chance of the November ballot having the two Rs and no Dem.

What has me thinking that Dem/Prog political operative Cheyenne Hunt is acting indy is that the Dems simply getting rid of the top Dem makes no sense to me. What does make sense to me is that Hunt's revelations made Swillwell unviable, and the Dems reacted swiftly to make room for ... ??? That swift reaction implicitly means that the Dems and their MSM-shills know enough about Swillwell to know he had zero chance of dodging the Me-Too Bullet. The degree of certainty might vary, but dozens of Dem pols and Dem-shill MSM folk knew what Swillwell is, probably years, even a decade, ago.

Going off into wild-ass speculation ... info about Swillwell's divorce from his first wife is not, AFAIK, online. I have no problem with that. I wonder if it was due to Swillwell's horndoggery and first wife learning about it. I wonder, on another but somewhat related tack, if second wife learned about the horndoggery from Cheyenne Hunt's revelations or if their "marriage" was, ummm, "open".
