Humpity Hump Day.
« on: September 17, 2008, 07:51:34 AM »
I feel slightly human.

Got a lot of sleep last night and certain other factors have conspired to leave me feeling almost 100% today. I will not delve into it here outside the confines of the whiny zone but I had another health issue going on concurrently with the flu.

So it looks as if it might be a good day here.  I fully expect the forces of entropy to assault me and prove me so very wrong, but for now it's copacetic.

I'm gonna clean the living begeezus out of the house today.  There may be flavored coffee and loud music at some point also.

And a trip to the Pig for the bare essentials since my kids ate the last of the eggs this morning.

We actually had a little thunder and about fifty drops of rain yesterday! Still less then one inch of rain so far this year!

I am giving a staff meeting at 7 this morning, until 8, and then I will continue to enjoy my two days off.

I'm up earlier than usual (*gasp*), but if the CR's want lunch, I have to go get the goods, which consist of a couple of chicken tender platters and cheesecake platter from Chick-Fil-A. :naughty:

Hopefully, though, the food draws in plenty of potential CR members and people looking to register to vote.  :-)

Well, I was gonna make stuffed peppers for dinner tonight, but spaced on taking the ground beef out of the freezer last night ( that couldn't be due to the wine I had, I'm sure!), so now I"m trying to figure out what to fix.

Heading out in a bit to meet Mr Flame for lunch, and to run a couple errands with him (stupid tax system here has us so lost we have to go to the office to figure out what the hell we are supposed to pay) :banghead:   The lunch to wash away the nasty effects of dealing with tax people. :-)

Baseball game tonight, and dance.

asdf, glad you are feeling better, and hope it lasts!

BadCat, I met another Front Sight (http://www.frontsight.com) student. Poor guy had to make two trips to urgent care, and on the third day, a visit to the doctor's office due to a bad spider bite. He was all full of infections. Very nice kid, a law enforcement officer from GA on top of being in the military.

Alright, back from class and the voter registration drive.

We had a pretty decent turn-out, as far as registration is concerned.  We had 8 folks register to vote AND 12 join the CR's, so that's progress, along with the front-page article about our organization in the school newspaper (a fair portrayal of us... glad the writer was freelance).

Yes, the Chick-Fil-A offerings definitely did help us lure folks in.  We did have an anarchist and a Ronbot stop by.     One of the newest sign-ups (ex-Army guy in his 30's, going back to college) started a debate with the anarchist.  It was priceless.    :lmao:

PS: I forgot how cute the CR president is.    :naughty:

Had lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a while.....with an absolutely lovely hot apple crispy thing with french vanilla ice cream. Half of lunch is in the refrig......I always check out the dessert menu first... :-)

Catching up here, then have a report due at 7pm.

M is grilling the pork tenderloin that I put in a marinade yesterday afternoon for tonight's dinner. He's eating...I had dessert... :-)

A lovely little trash book and watching Sarah Palin do a town hall meeting on Fox later.

The weather is beautiful outside again today!

I went into work and since it's Wednesday, I'm off work at 1pm and off to my silly 1 hr class.  My class was indeed again silly.

So, my brother had a big idea for me to pick up some cheesecake from this little bakery that makes the best cheesecake in the whole freaking world!  I had to stop by there and go ahead pick them up.  I now have delicious cheesecake in my fridge.  I told my aunt that they need to pray that I don't dig in before Saturday.

Friday the ladies in the office are taking me to lunch to celebrate my birthday, and I also picked up a key lime cheesecake for dessert.  Again, it's sitting in my fridge, and the key lime is my absolute favorite.

Now, after such a hard day, I'm thinking...nap.  :)

Gonna start dinner.

Cheddar cheese & potato soup, brats and corn.

Comfort food for my wife who had a Jerry McGuire moment at work today and stood up and answered honestly for about 15 minutes when the executive vice president for the corporation asked at a senior leadership meeting, "I mean does anyone think I'm WRONG here?!"
:cheersmate:

I am hoping that we won't be relocating to the east coast or someplace afield within the next couple of weeks.  :p :rotf:

Update on the pork tenderloin...put it in a zippered baggie and poured in some of that new Kraft Tuscan House Italian and marinated it for 24 hours.....OMG.....it's delicious. Very tender and moist and a really good flavor.

Italian dressing makes excellent marinade.  I've used it on chicken.

I do too, but I hadn't tried this particular one. Sam's had 2 big bottles for 5 something and I picked them up. I had planned to use them with chicken, but I was doing this between reports yesterday and the dressing was on the pantry shelf above the baggies... :-)
