Apparently, some have counter-argued that a $40M loss is a drop in the bucket for a billion-dollar corporation like Paramount. OTOH, borrowing from a 1960s Congress-Critter, $16M here, $40M there, pretty soon we're talking real money.

On top of the $40M, Colbert runs his mouth pretty freely, kind of like Step-in-awful-stuff did, to ABC's loss. IOW, Colbert's big mouth is a big lawsuit risk to Paramount/SeeBS.
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

So many thoughts about this comical episode, which is far funnier than his soon-to-be ended show. And yes...

If CBS/Paramount/Viacom were acceptable to paying out the unfunny loser COAL-bert, then why did they announce this afterwards:

The great “South Park” standoff of ’25 is over. Series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have officially extended their overall deal with Paramount Global for a further five years.

Under the terms of the deal between Paramount and Parker and Stone’s Park County production company, “South Park” has received an order for 50 new episodes. In addition, all 26 previous seasons will be available to stream on Paramount+ for the first time, while new episodes will air on Comedy Central and then stream on Paramount+ the day after.

The news comes after it was reported on Monday that Parker and Stone were close to a new deal with Paramount worth approximately $300 million per year for a total of $1.5 billion.

Were it not for the fact that I hit my pillow before 10 PM and have never seen Colbert's show (and probably not even a GoogTube clip from it), I'd say the fall-out from Colbert's comeuppance is far more amusing than his show. That qualification aside, I am finding Progs' whinging and whining very amusing, and the facts underlying his coming departure contradicting them it even more so.
