ICE Arrests Colombian Illegal Teen Who Caused a Woman's Vehicular Death, but He Wasn't Only One Arrested

In July 2024, a 15-year-old Colombian teenager who was 1) an illegal immigrant; 2) did not have a driver's license; and 3) had taken his mother's Jeep on a joy ride with friends and was driving 90 miles-an-hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone, struck the car of 24-year-old Kaitlyn Weaver, and ended her life. The teenager was charged with vehicular homicide, and the district attorney's office promised there would be no plea deal and that they would prosecute the Colombian illegal to the full extent of the law.
When the top D.A. position changed hands two months later, so did those terms. A plea deal was given, and it is a rank insult to the life of Kaitlyn Weaver, to her parents John and Michelle, and the Weaver family:
Under the new District Attorney Amy Padden, Weaver says the teen was offered two years' probation if he pleaded guilty.
The Colombian illegal did plead guilty in order to get the reduced sentence. Along with the probation, he was required to do 100 hours of community service, and urged to "attend school and not break any laws."
A 15 year old illegal migrant from Colombia was given a lax sentence for killing Kaitlyn Weaver. Then ICE detains him and his whole family. That is karma for ya!
