One of Fox News’ top hosts appeared stunned when a network reporter informed her that President Joe Biden had not yet contacted the families of the three American service members who were killed earlier this week in Syria.

On Saturday night, a one-way attack drone crashed into the Jordanian base, resulting in the deaths of three service members and injuries to 25 others. The White House attributed the attack to Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq, marking a significant escalation in the Middle East.

According to Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, President Biden has not yet reached out to the families of Sgt. William Rivers, Specialist Kennedy Sanders, and Specialist Breonna Moffett, which appeared to shock host Harris Faulkner.

“Also, Harris, watching for news that the president has contacted the families of these fallen soldiers or that he plans to attend their dignified transfer at Dover. Neither of those questions [did] the White House have any answers on yesterday,” Heinrich told Faulker Tuesday.

The strikes are in response to the deaths of three U.S. service members last Sunday on a U.S. base in Jordan. 

The initial strikes by manned and unmanned aircraft hit command and control headquarters.

In a statement, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that forces conducted airstrikes on more than 85 targets in Iraq and Syria against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force and affiliated militia groups.

Iran on Thursday pulled out its top Islamic Guard (IRGC) commanders and several other terror operatives from Syria amid alleged Israeli counter-terror strikes. “Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) recalled its senior officers from Syria, and will now rely on regional proxies,” the Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported. “The decision came amid increased targeted strikes, blamed on Israel, in the region.”

Tehran is withdrawing top terror operatives nearly two weeks after a supposed Israeli airstrike eliminated 5 IRGC commanders, including its Syria-based intelligence chief. Since Hamas’s October 7 massacre, the Israeli military has reportedly carried out several targeted strikes in neighboring Syria and Lebanon, both countries which are being used by Iran to stage terror attacks into northern Israel, such as rocket barrages and infiltration attempts by terror squads.

Prompted by Iran, Hezbollah and other terrorist militias have escalated attacks along Israel’s northern border. The sudden retreat of IRGC commanders from the battlefield leaves these proxy terrorist outfits in the lurch.

There are reportedly civilians among the dead. The Baghdad government on Saturday said that 16 Iraqis, among them civilians, were killed - while on the other side of the border the Syrian Defense Ministry confirmed that both militants and civilians were killed but without providing a figure. The Syrian military said that "many civilian and military martyrs" died. The anti-Assad monitoring group, UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that the Syria strikes killed 23 militia fighters.

The official readout by US Central Command (CENTCOM) described that "The facilities that were struck included command and control operations centers, intelligence centers, rockets, and missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicle storages, and logistics and munition supply chain facilities of militia groups and their IRGC sponsors who facilitated attacks against U.S. and Coalition forces."

The survey, conducted earlier this month and released on Monday, found that 66% of likely voters in the U.S. say that the rising tensions in the Middle East between the United States and Iran will likely lead to war. Almost one-quarter, 24%, said that a war is "very likely," while 24% said that they don't think war is "very likely," and just 2% said war is "not at all likely."

Most voters, 65%, said that the U.S. military would likely win in an all-out war against Iran. Just 15% said the U.S. military cannot win, and 20% are unsure.

The group Combat Antisemitism Movement, through their Antisemitism Research Center, says they recorded 3,046 incidents of antisemitism globally last year, up 58.2% from 2022, when the group says they recorded 1,925 incidents.

“This highlights a concerning international increase in levels of antisemitism,” report authors write.

Not only did rates of antisemitism soar as a whole — with many incidents coming not long after the October 7 terrorist attack against Israel — researchers say that for the first time since they started recording and tracking world-wide incidents of hate against Jews, the bigotry came as often from “far-left” actors as it did from the “far-right” groups.

As a result of the launches, an IDF soldier was lightly injured and evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment. His family has been notified.”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded by taking out Hezbollah rocket launch sites in southern Lebanon. “Hezbollah ups attacks on Israel,” the Jerusalem Post reported Sunday. “In response, the IDF attacked the sources of the rocket fire, including Hezbollah infrastructure in al-Khiam and Rab El Thalathine in southern Lebanon. Additionally, the IDF attacked the Hula area with artillery to remove a threat.”

The latest rocket barrage from Lebanon took place in the backdrop of increased Hezbollah aggression as the IDF conducts a large-scale military operation to eliminate Hamas in Gaza.

Tehran has vowed that vengeance is coming soon for the Monday Israeli airstrike on its embassy in Damascus. Most pundits believe this will take the form of ballistic missiles raining down on Israeli cities. But Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly vowing that if the Islamic Republic launches missiles from its soil it will ensure "a strong response" from Israel.

Israeli officials have told Axios late in the day that such an act would "take the current conflict to another level" — which most certainly would involve a direct Israel-Iran war and thus the eruption of a broader regional conflict. Axios adds the following observations:

Iranian proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Gaza have attacked Israel but there hasn't been an attack from Iranian soil.
A direct Iranian strike on Israel would be unprecedented and could lead to a regional war in the Middle East.
Netanyahu informed his security cabinet Thursday that Israel's forces have already been engaged with Iran "both directly and via its proxies, and therefore Israel is operating against Iran and its proxies, both defensively and offensively."
