kentuck (89,144 posts)One part of our Constitution that has become obsoleteIt is the "impeachment clause". Will we ever see a president impeached again? If Congress cannot impeach and convict under the present circumstances, will it ever happen again? Republicans point to the Bill Clinton impeachment as the model that proves impeachment fails. But, the difference between Bill Clinton and Donald Trump is like night and day. The circumstances are not the same and should not be used for comparison. The Executive has grown so powerful in the minds of many in the Legislature that our country has put itself into a situation where it presents a great threat to our country. The Congress needs to take back the power for the people. No one person, especially one that is mentally incapacitated, should hold so much power over our survival. https://upload.democraticunderground.com/100211427180
It's not obsolete.Let's say the Hildebeast had won the election, then all the shady stuff about her campaign and emails came to light. She'd be impeached.
Socrates (via Plato) thought that democracy was about the stupidest idea he ever heard of and I'm beginning to agree with him.

They made it hard for a reason, Ken****. They were smarter than you.
