My other half is convinced that come the convention, the Dems just might give it to Hillary. He doesn't think Obama will ever make it to inauguration.

I think if Obama survives and wins the election, he may never make it to January or if he does he will not live a year. It's hard to know, who will go after him first. One guy has already been arrested in FL for threats on Obama's life. Which makes no sense that he would tell people, unless he is a decoy for someone else.

If something happens to prevent Obama from the election in November, or if something happens to him if he is elected.....I truly belief, we will see riots in the large cities all across the country.....and we will ...each and every person in this country....be in a world of deep shit....that may take decades to recover from. Especially if we are attacked from the outside when we are most vulnerable.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Jim - understand about the state by state EV's.  Point was that he'll need to carry very well in the middle of the country and the southeast to offset the larger EV states.   During the primary in my precinct there was the largest turnout off voters for any election since I've lived here and going along with the representation of poll workers outside, they were primarily for OB, and this area has been Republican for years, but I swear they were bringing people in from Birmingham.

BO's young-voter numbers have already dropped significantly, from 75% down to 35-40% in the last six months.  I don't think the stoner vote is going to put him over the top this year.

cool.   yes, every state matters and the GOP will have to take all the usual ones.  and I have no doubt he will.

As has been pointed out already, that groundswell of youthful support is already eroded very significantly and I believe the reason is that, as has happened every election since I helped get Vote-18 passed, the candidates have had to shift their positions to the center to try and capture the mushy middle.  this is a stake in the heart to the ideologues and their response is to say screw it and stay home.  the kids are nothing if not ideologues.  Hell I used to be one (the right side not the left) and it took me a long time to realize that it was just impossible to elect a president as conservative as I would like.  I keep trying but I'm realistic.

The kids are wandering off...
The independents are wandering off (they HATE shifting positions that are obviously poll driven)...
The wimminis are still pissed off and they are still wanting to feel security in terms of national defense and economic ways.  The energy thing is a freaking gold mine if McC can avoid ****ing it up (pardon my french).

We cannot take ANYTHING for granted but I really believe its McC's to lose at this juncture.

My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

A follow up to a previous post I made.  It was just on the "local" Birmingham news.  "There has been a significant voter registration in the 19-25 year old black voter, this year.  With 44 million new voters in that age group."

It didn't give the breakdown, but this was covered by mainstream news and the coverage centered on and primarily show one ethnic side of society.  While they didn't cross any lines, the message was clear.

What's clear to me is that Lord Barack Almighty is an America hating racist. The Russian's are stupid, they should have waited to see if the Neo-Messiah makes it to the hot seat.
