Actually, I recall the most-common number cited as a whooping 370 electoral votes, the primitives pretty much convinced she was going to carry every single state but Nebraska and South Dakota.

Hell, at various times they even predicted she'd carry Georgia and Utah.

You are not the only victim of this group of well... as to Brave, she crossed a critical line when she questioned my self-identity as an immigrant from Mexico and a Jew. Wouldn't it be easier to correct hacks if one used standard forum hosting software, such as the SMF that's used here, and on most other message boards?

It seems to me that with custom-made hosting software, repairing problems would be more difficult.

It's always been a mystery to me why Skins had Elad develop what Skins's island uses--and Jim Robinson having his kid develop what freerepublic uses--when it'd just be quicker, simpler, and easier to grab one of the ordinary forum hosting softwares on the internet and use that.

Listened to some Michael Moore videos today since some media pundits are praising him for having seen the ruined state of the American working middle class. He saw some things, but his reasons behind why things went the way they did are way off course. He still doesn't get it.

I watched some Moore clips over the weekend.  He was praising Obama and claiming that Trump would be authoritarian - completely ignoring Obama's inability to actually try to work with Rs.

I have recovered somewhat from the utter shock and disgust at the outcome of this election. Now what to do?

One thing is for people to petition their state legislators to pass a law that requires their state electors to cast their votes for the candidate who won the popular vote. This would supercede having to have an amendment to the constitution.

15 states have already done this, including my state of Massachusetts. Get busy folks!!

Sheila Hartney I posted for many years as SheilaT. In early August my account was flagged for review, something that was supposed to last only a few days. There is simply no way to contact the administrators when you're in that limbo, which is beyond frustrating. A few days became three months. I was often openly critical of Hillary and the entire process that put her as the nominee. I am convinced that I was being stalked, and while I'm pretty certain I know by whom, there's no point in naming names. Meanwhile the site is still down. Really? And when it comes back, will the sins of those like me, who pointed out -- correctly as it turns out -- that Bernie Sanders would have made a vastly better candidate, will my sins be forgiven? Or will the extremists who took over in the past year still hold sway?

I remain in shock that you found a supremely qualified and competent woman candidate more unacceptable than an unstable, vindictive sociopath whose lies far exceed any political candidate in recorded history. You judged honesty by his eagerness to express hatred and made no effort to independently verify the statements of the two candidates. I realize now that merely being a woman means we are assumed to be liars, untrustworthy, and no level of preparedness or service to others can counteract that. You instead decided a man who repeatedly sexually assaulted women should be elevated to the highest office in the nation, despite the fact that a majority of you believed he committed those acts. You validated sexual assault, just as you validated racism.

I didn’t understand how much you despised my LGBT loved ones, that my African American friends were so resented because of their race and efforts to be treated as equal citizens, to not be killed because of their skin color. I underestimated the hatred for my Latino and Muslim co-workers. I grieve that voters of my own state came within one point of affirming Trump’s hateful condemnation of our Somali Minnesotan neighbors; that they chose for US congress a man who declared that white people should have the “right” to own other human beings as slaves. You chose a candidate endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan and who used racism and xenophobia as central features of his campaign. Exit polls show that Hillary Clinton prevailed among voters who named the economy as their primary issue, but Trump won voters who identified immigration and terrorism as central concerns. Humans are funny in that we can feel contradictory feeling all at the same time. I feel gratitude toward my DU family for supporting me as I ran for State Representative in a very Republican county in New Mexico with contributions to my campaign and more importantly, with such strengthening words that I stood up taller, felt nurtured and nourished ... especially Pinboy3niner and OmahaSteve.

I have such love & loyalty to DU that I have to smile, in spite of the...... mourning for our nation, for the public lands, for the marginalized and those with no voice. But I feel fierce determination to run again, if our nation has a way to that then, to create for me and for all I want to do... a better world for all of us.

First of all, I am sorry about what that criminal did to the website. Secondly -or first- I am devastated by the 'election' of the man I cannot yet bear to name: I call him The Unspeakable, or the T-word. And that there are bullies, racists, misogynists etc, who will use him as an excuse to be vile. And that my own misguided country has chosen this time to maroon itself on a desert island when it should be huddling with our Europaean friends.

I hope this disaster will make some of my fellow citizens reconsider. I put 'election' in quotation marks because for the second time out of five elections in the 21st century, the person who lost the popular vote won in the electoral college. Why even go the trouble and expense of holding an election, when the person who got fewest votes is almost as likely to win as the one who got most votes? Might as well toss a coin!

My best thoughts to all of you who actually have to live there, and have the Unspeakable think he is fit to walk on the same ground as Obama, let alone take his place in the White House.
