Way too many people confuse Memorial Day with Veteran's Day. We need to go back to calling it Decoration Day.  My dad never called it anything else while he was alive.

Every year I strap two American flags to the bike take a ride thru 2 Broadway streets to a grave yard where My dad, uncle and grandfather are buried. All were VFW. so they all get flags on this holiday and I go to make sure no one drops the ball. So far so good.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Problem with that Thundley is here in the south (mountain areas especially) Decoration Day is numerous days (depending on the cemetery). Could be any Sunday in May where we decorate the graves of family members and have a picnic dinner on the lawn (sorta a family reunion)....

Shameless plugging of the thread I did on the subject the other day.
