It's the Duty of Every Sanders Supporter to Vote for Hillary [View all]

If you choose not to support Hillary in the fall, because of some misguided notion of what she “owes” you, then you choose to cede the election to a man who will destroy every cause that Bernie Sanders, and you, once claimed to care about. And while you may be in a position in life that it won’t affect you directly if Trump bans Muslims, repeals Obamacare, and does everything he can to hurt gays, blacks, Latinos and women, is that really why you felt the Bern this election — because you put your own disappointment over the needs of the many?

Look, I get it. It feels totally unfair that your guy lost. We’ve all been there. (The election of 2000 comes to mind.) But cutting off your nose, and the collective noses of every American, out of a personal sense of pique is the last thing your revolution was about.

When Hillary and Bernie were in the Senate, they voted together 93% of the time. You could do a lot worse than electing a second President Clinton — you could help elect President Trump. And then you can really kiss your revolution goodbye.

1. John Aravosis wouldn't know responsibility if it bit him on the ass

We have a responsibility as Americans to use our vote to express our political choice and raise our political voice. The fascist days of going along to get along are over. What this OP advocates is ****ing stupid, because it is obvious that she is stealing this primary when the majority want Sanders.

180. Her and her people love closed

They have not lifted one finger to expand the party like Bernie. That in itself is a big **** you. Just look at all of tbe posts on DU celebrating the closed primaries and her supporters take great pride at insulting Bernie supporters and indies. Way to convince them, or as I say., a big **** you.

28. Yes. Their decision to cheat proves that Hillary knows she would lose to Bernie in a fair primary.

I would not have a problem with it if both candidates got to explain their ideas to the public on an equal footing, and the majority of Americans made an informed decision to vote for Hillary. I would be disappointed, but I would feel like democracy did what it was designed to do.

But this cluster-**** of cheating and deck-stacking by the DNC, the media, DWS, and election officials does not even come close to democratic. We have a *******ed banana republic election syst

114. You have four options ...

1) Vote for Hillary

2) Vote for the Republican nominee who will most likely be Trump

3) Throw away your vote

4) Refuse to vote

There's only one correct option.

Choose wisely.

5. You think? It is my right to vote for whomever I feel represents me. My vote is not owed my vote can not be bought, my vote cannot be coerced it can only be earned. My vote belongs only to me. To do with as I see fit.

196. Discussion?

Silly me, I thought it was a decree.

As for duty, I served (honorably) in the US Navy for 22 years, pay taxes, and am available to serve on a jury if called. Voting, on the other hand, is a right, and no one has the authority to tell me it's my "duty" to vote for any candidate.

Posts like this are NOT helpful. They only serve to antagonize and divide. Although I'd prefer Bernie, I am still planning on voting for the Dem candidate; however, a few more posts like this one may cause me to reevaluate my position.

30. LOL. Duty. You think you get to lecture us on "duty". My duty is to vote for a candidate

that will help us recover our lost democracy as clearly shown in this primary. It seems to me that those that bow to tough authoritarian leadership expect to be able to demand that we all do that. Homey don't play that game.

The Left has been disparaged day after day here. The most outspoken were gang attacked until they were banned. Yep, banned on a supposedly liberal message board. Now you demand we toe the authoritarian line.

33. You do realize that the more you (y'all) hector me, the less likely I am to do as you say? (Hint - that's human nature.)

Waiting with bated breath to see if there's any reply to this - nah, I'm not.

Actually, I will do as I please - much as I would derive great satisfaction from going directly against this post.

And what I please is none of your business.

63. You should vote your conscience in the primary ...

... but, Hillary is going to be the nominee.

And, then you will have a choice to make.

To do your duty as a patriotic American ...

... or not.

Choose wisely.

OK, that is great moling.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

OK, that is great moling.

But man, I heartily endorse the sentiments.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."
