I ****ing hope you're happy, Trump.

You should be so proud of yourself. Hope no one gets killed because of you, asshole.

Quote
Before Trump's appearance in the nearly 52-minute video, the al Qaeda-linked Islamic extremist cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a 2011 U.S. drone strike, lectures to the camera: "Muslims of the West, take heed and learn from the lessons of history. There are ominous clouds gathering in your horizon. Yesterday, America was a land of slavery, segregation, lynching and Ku Klux Klan. And tomorrow, it will be a land of religious discrimination and concentration camps."

Trump then appears in a clip from a stump speech, saying, "Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what the is going on." The crowd enthusiastically cheers Trump's words.

Al-Awlaki again appears, lecturing viewers that "the West will eventually turn against its Muslim citizens." He goes on to say that American Muslims have two choices: "You either leave or you fight." Al-Awlaki extols Nidal Hasan, the U.S. Army psychiatrist who killed 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009.

Let me see if I get this straight:

1. You Proglodytes want "white Christian terrorists" disarmed and fire bombed for no reason other than they're white and don't accept fag marriage but you make fun of them for talking about FEMA camps

2. When someone rails against Islamic violence after 9/11 you're dick gets all bent sideways because someone uses that rant in a recruiting video for the very group that perpetrated 9/11 you want to race out and prove to the perpetrators of 9/11 that you don't want them put into concentration camps (even though the perpetrators want to put Jews in concentration camps)

4. I'm very pro free speech.

However, when lives are on the line, it is somewhat polite to not risk them. Plus, I'm also freedom of religion, so hey, have a word and practice freely, I say.

Don't bad-mouth Hitler.

It could lead to war.

6. I don't see it as limiting speech in the US, but

measuring a potential leader's ability to navigate diplomatically and successfully in a turbulent world. Running off at the mouth to inspire the least knowledgable and most intolerant among us is not the mark of a leader.

Why do you want diplomatic relations with Islamic terrorists?

And want them at the expense of American rights.

Quote
Fantastic Anarchist (5,870 posts)

8. Exactly.

Also, to have a potential leader openly declare that he would ignore the Constitution, and have people support that is quite disappointing.

Like Obama ignoring immigration law or forcing birth control mandates on the religious or refusing to defend DOMA or trying to circumvent congressional authority on gun control?

And you assholes cheer him all the way so long as you get what you want.

Quote
And this is coming from me, someone who definitely isn't fond of any organized religion. I do at least have a sense enough to try respect people's faith.

This has nothing to do with free speech. I'm absolutely for free speech, and don't mind hateful rhetoric, but that doesn't shield him from my opinion of his views and words.

It cuts both ways.

10. I'm all for freedom of speech

Laws addressing defamation and hate speech that curtail some freedom of speech exist for a good reason - when speech hurts others.

"They must consider that great responsibility follows inseparably from great power. " Voltaire

Free speech is a great and powerful thing. With it should come some responsibility.

I'm certainly against hate speech when it gets someone killed.

I strongly suspect some innocent Americans will die at the hands of terrorists inspired to act in retaliation of Trump's words. Sad but probably close to as likely as Hillary's concern that Trump words would be used in a recruiting video for terrorists.

12. "Hate speech" must be extremely well defined resulting in some demonstrable harm

The obvious distinction lies with someone irrationally reacting to my words with violence against someone....and me inciting someone into an act of violence. The former is the complete and total responsibility of the irrational murdering killer, the latter is the responsibility if the incitor.

Goading doesn't justify irrational unacceptable behavior.

Quote
Jarqui (669 posts)

18. It takes two to fight

If the US overthrow a few of their leaders over decades and screw with their lives or drone some of their family members and then an asshole like Trump says stuff like he did, it's not just Trump's words they're irrationally reacting to. Trump reminds them of other injustices or the fight the Muslims have with US foreign policy.

You can take a nice dog, tie him up and abuse him. Eventually, he'll turn mean and bite back.

If we look at the Protestants vs Catholics in Ireland, both sides could debate which injustice started the fight. By the time I plugged into it, it had been going on so long, nobody would pin it down with certainty or the other side would have a different take on it. The conflict in the middle east doesn't seem much different to me.

If one doesn't want terrorist problems, smart behavior is to not to provoke them like Trump did. Like the tied up mean dog, they can bite back.

How come this "if you abuse them long enough they'll turn mean" is never permitted for Americans/conservatives.

20. There is no justification that would make me open to limiting any American's

Speech rights. This includes drawing and publishing cartoons of child molesting Mohammed....

22. Dead Americans is ample justification for me to consider limiting

America's speech rights.

We limit them for defamation. We limit them for hate speech.

I don't think "drawing and publishing cartoons of child molesting Mohammed" does a lot of good for this world - particularly when it can result in a bunch of American dead innocent women and children.

I find your words...

...inciting

We should all be careful about what we say. "Free Speech" has consequences when abused, and its something we all need to be mindful of.

17. Trump isn't president

They could fill in the blank with any racist making a speech and serve their needs. Thankfully trump will never be president and his horrible ideas will never be implemented... but ISIS and their like will keep up jihad against us infidels all the same.

23. To be fair, this IS all Hillary's fault.

ISIS/AlQaeda would never have thought of using Trump video until Clinton suggested it. She is obviously another great recruiter for terrists.

Is this election season over yet?

This is a Democrat talking point.  Makes me think some production company took Hillary's mention of a Trump ISIS video as a request.

Yesterday , king putt was president. The calls for segregation (safe spaces) during his term in office by your 'safe space' bunch, are all on you - the left. The only plantation in America to still engage in slavery, is the democrat plantation. The only 'lynchings' going on these days, are done by the media, with the administration and you nuttbag lefties running behind it and pushing as fast as you can. "If I had a son, he'd look like trayvon martin". “He looks like he’s up to no good, he looks black.” One a deliberate inflammatory statement by putt, and the other, a deliberate attempted lynching by nbc. And one needn't have looked too hard over in DUmmieland for one to find droves of leftist nuttbag DUmmies, running behind pushing as fast as they could.

Tomorrow, putt will still be president, probably trying to exercise authority which he doesn't have, as hes repeatedly done. The leftist media will still be on the air, free to lynch whoever is next on their list, and of course, ever willing to put reality in a concentration camp to preserve 'the narrative', whether that means smearing someone as a racist, or trying to play down clear and obvious terrorism as 'workplace violence'. DUmmies will still be calling for others to be "waco'd", while while screaming that black lives matter out of the other side of their mouths.

DUmmies reading this, you know thats all true, and I certainly hope it hurts. Stupid is supposed to hurt.

Did I miss the thread the DUmmies had about the ISIS propaganda video featuring Bill "the fornicator" Clinton, and Barry "the apostate' Soetoro?

Seriously, I would doubt if this supposed ISIS recruiting video was put together through a collaboration of Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton.

I think that ISIS made the video in response to HilLIARy's comment.  They know that Trump, or any Republican, would hunt them down mercilessly, and not only make recruiting 'difficult,' but kill the ones in the group now.  They know that HilLIARy will hunt them according to the political winds, which the Islamist scumbags will make sure blow in their favor, and HilLIARy will allow.

I would like to submit that if somebody's words are enough to cause somebody else to behead people or blow themselves up, that the problem lies with that somebody else.

I have been called just about every name in the book. All it ever gets from me is a raised eyebrow and a dismissive headshake.
