A group of 150 armed militia members have broken into and occupied a federal building in Oregon. The group reportedly includes three sons of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who had a tense standoff with federal officials in 2014.

Radical militia members from across the country descended on Harney County, Oregon today to protest the conviction of two local ranchers for arson on federal land. They claim “that the federal government had no authority in Harney County.†The militia occupying the headquarters building at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is a splinter group from the larger protest. The gambit seems intended “to provoke a standoff with the federal government.â€

In a phone interview with the Oregonian, Ammond Bundy said that “would not rule out violence if law enforcement tries to remove them.†He called the headquarters building “the tool to do all the tyranny that has been placed upon the Hammonds†and said he was “planning on staying…for years.†In a message on Facebook Bundy said he planned on establishing the facility as a base for militia members across the country:

Basically, the protesters don't want the ranchers serving an additional 2 years after already serving 3 years for setting fire breaks and brush burning. However, the ranchers were not convicted of arson, destruction of federal property or the like
They were charged with terrorism:
Seventy-three-year-old Dwight Hammond and 46-year-old Steven Hammond say they lit the fires in 2001 and 2006 to reduce the growth of invasive plants and protect their property from wildfires.
The two were convicted three years ago and served time, but a judge ruled the terms were too short. Federal lawyers prosecuted the ranchers under an anti-terrorism law that they say required a five-year minimum sentence.

the same type of protest. Wonder if the Feds would do the same to this group. Didn't think so.
The Feds should use tear gas at a minimum.
And the libs condemned it.

18. Sadly they are in a Refuge. The two men they are defending destroyed environment
so this is very dire situation since they could just burn it and murder wildlife. I hope that they are stopped before they kill several animals to eat. These people are unstable. I think drones need to be brought in and starting at the perimeters herd them into the building then smoke it. If our government does nothing then they sanction this crap.

What they do is permissible.
What you do is offensive.

Those who remain will face arrest and detention when they leave the building. Power and water are in the process of being cut as are phone lines and a cellular jamming system has been activated. Legal advisors are researching terrorism statutes to determine maximum penalties. No supplies will be allowed to enter the perimeter nor will the building be assaulted. Accounting advisors are at work totaling the cost of containing the situation and you will be assessed these costs upon conviction. Have a nice day!"

The cops need to stop shooting members of black movements. We agree on that. But the only "radical" movements I've seen in the last five to ten years are full of people about as white as that piece of toilet paper in your hand was before you wiped your Falwell with it - namely, the sovereign citizens I've been watching for several years.
Radical black movements: Okay
Radical anti-government movements that happen to be white: Not okay
Although, it has to be admitted that both are protesting the same government, even if for different offenses.
