Something this DUmbass isn't saying, I guess it's just not convenient.
More from that article about Moonbeam's conflict of interest:
But Gov. Brown’s connection to Sempra goes even deeper. Campaign finance records show that Brown has received tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Sempra and Sempra employees going back to at least 2006.
Brown also appointed two high-ranking Sempra representatives to a 2014 trade mission to Mexico.
...
For many governors, maintaining a relationship with a prominent energy company might not raise eyebrows.
Brown, however, is different. The Golden State governor spent the year touting his green credentials and has specifically singled out methane — the gas leaking near Porter Ranch — as a greenhouse emission he wants to cut. Earlier this month he also was a star attendee at the Paris climate conference — a global gathering that explicitly aimed to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
BTW, his sister Kathleen also ran for Governor back in the 80s or 90s ... not as a D ... and was defeated.
Re the gas leak, it is as big a mess as Pb stated,
BUT the
eeeeeeeevile "big corp" is not getting "a pass". It's not an "easily" fixed pipeline leak, it's a damaged well, i.e. the damage is somewhere in the earth. IOW, it's vastly more complicated than shutting off a branch of pipeline and replacing a damaged section of pipe. I have a feeling that once the leak is fixed, Sempra and/or its subsidiary - depending on how the corporation is structured - will be sued into oblivion.
Notice Pb doesn't say much about the people of Porter Ranch who've been forced to move out of their homes. Much of it is a gated community, 1%ers or 2%ers, and the ethnic composition is >90% "white" and un-PC minorities. So (s)he only cares about
Global Worming and weed ... lots of weed. Speaking of weed, I'm guessing that's what inspired Pb to bring up the gas leak, to divert attention from how the sudden ginormous increase in in weed production is creating an enviro-mess.
