N Korea lays a mine in the DMZ injuring S Korean Army patrol.
S Korea turns on loudspeakers blasting propaganda.
N Korea fires into S Korea with artillery and rockets at loud speakers.
S Korea fires back.

I've seen videos of their marching drills, but surely they don't have that many resources or manpower to defeat a modernized country do they?

If you're NK, wait and see if the Sanders kook becomes prez. If he does, then attack the South. Anybody really believe Sanders would use the military for anything having to do with fighting a foreign human enemy?

Same for Putin if Sanders wins. The former Soviet satellites nations and Eastern Europe is open season again. Why not?
