I truly thought it was a made up thing but I swear this is what is happening to my husband.

looks like we really are selling our home and moving to an apartment NY style downtown.

He thought we could take both dogs. I told him I could not walk the male one and I wasn't getting up at 5 to go walk dogs...basically told him it wasn't realistic to have dogs in an apartment. now he is all moody about having to give them away...

I told him there is a lot to this process if it goes well.

Plenty of people say they need a "change of scenery" thinking that by just moving, whatever they were unhappy about will disappear. I did that after my mother died, and it doesn't work. It sounds like you need to sit down and talk about what he wants to run away from.

But I've also had dogs in apartments. I guess it depends on the type of dog (not to take your husband 's side here).

I also like change, sort of. I need to move around, to travel. I get bored very easily. It makes me a lousy partner if the other person doesn't get that. I've been a restless soul since birth, claims my mom.

Be careful about moving if it means giving up both dogs.

There is another DU poster here who has had to live with giving up cats that meant a lot to his wife when they moved to a condo that didn't allow cats. For some people, having a pet--dog or cat--is really important to their well-being.*

Not having a dog may be a GIANT red flag for taking on the move for your husband.

If that's going to make a big difference to him, it might be time to slow down and really have a heart to heart talk about what is motivating the move, how your lives will change as a result of going from a house to an apartment, and what price each of you is willing to pay for the difference in the lifestyle.

*obviously a reference to the diabetic primitive.

It's always funny to see how many DUmmies don't know Pam is a pathological liar.

And it's interesting to speculate on what brought on this storyline.

I'm guessing they're on the verge of bankruptcy due to a ballooning credit card balance.

The gofundme scam was a dry hole, so now she's looking at equity in the house for money to stave off creditors.

No one gives up a house and moves into a little apartment in downtown Wichita voluntarily.

Of course, the whole thing is probably just another Pam lie.

Even though completely documented,some decent and civilized folks still cling to the idea that there might be a word out of her demented mouth that might be the truth.

The "flavor" of this story has changed.

As originally posted, DTJ suggested they were both considering this move together, they would save money because of it, get to go on more vacations & cruises, and they would get to keep one dog.

That thread derailed when DTJ mentioned that her husband is legally blind, yet drives.

--Now the notion of moving will involve no dogs, and that this is the husband's idea, not hers.

I wonder if part of Pam's tale was inspired by all the DUmp attention TorchTheWitch has been getting with her Yoshi-the-mutt strategy.

Torch is moving so Pam is moving.

Torch put up a panhandle page at gofundme, so Pam put up a panhandle page at gofundme.

Torch gets attention with her mutt, so Pam brings in two mutts.

They're not exactly the same.

I'm sure no one ever paid to watch Pam take off her clothes, and her husband is blind.
