These are trying times we live in....do you need a lift?
« on: June 27, 2015, 06:57:59 PM »
This song was sung at the funeral of a very dear friend of mine, 15 years ago this month. I think about him often and this song helps me get through the day. The words aren't the same as what they sang that day or what you will find in your church hymnal but I copied them because they fit the times. You may want to look up a video of your favorite singer doing this song.

(One day at a time sweet Jesus)

 I'm only human
 I'm just a woman/man
Help me believe, what I could be
 And all that I am
 Show me the stairway
 I have to climb
 Lord for my sake
 Teach me to take
 One day at a time

One day at a time sweet Jesus
That's all I'm askin' from You
 Just give me the strength
 To do every day
 What I should do
 Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus
 Tomorrow may never be mine

 Lord help me today
 Show me the way
 One day at a time

 Do You remember
 When You walked among men
 Jesus You know
 If You're lookin' below
 It's worse now than then
 Cheatin' and stealin'
 Violence and crime

So for my sake
 Teach me to take
 One day at a time

One day at a time sweet Jesus
That's all I'm askin' from You
 Just give me the strength
 To do every day
 What I should do
 Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus
 Tomorrow may never be mine

 Lord help me today
 Show me the way
 One day at a time...
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
