Eyeglasses ?
« on: May 23, 2015, 09:09:05 PM »
I got a new pair of glasses this week. The final cost was $745. When I was told the total I had to ask her to repeat it. It's been a while since I've gotten a new pair so I was expecting an increase in the price, but I didn't expect the price to go up that much. Does that price sound normal?

Bifocals, trifocals, no line ones? I wear no line bifocals and about two years ago I got a new pair of my regular ones with the flexible frames, a pair of prescription safety glasses, and a pair of prescription sunglasses.  With the exam and my insurance, I paid about $375.

They're no line bifocals. Since half of my work is on the computer the optometrist said I needed some sort of antiglare lenses. Plus since the other half of my work is outside and my eyes are light-sensitive he said I needed the transition (or whatever they call them) lenses. I figured the last two things would add to the cost. I just didn't figure on it adding that much.

I guess the price was worth it. I had what was essentially a perpetual headache for the last two or three weeks. Since getting the new glasses the headaches seem to be gone.

Probably as a result of owebumacare.
Thanks owebuma.
Thanks all you libs, low info voters, blacks(only because owebuma was half black) and white guiltors who voted for owebuma.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I had Transitions lenses up until 5 years or so ago.  They didn't seem to get as dark in the summer as they did in the winter.  I was using clip on lenses on top of the glasses with Transitions lenses.

I'm allergic to sunlight, or at least it seems like it sometimes. There are times that it causes me to have sneezing fits.

I picked up 2 pair today, 1 was progressive bifocal transitions, UV coated, new frames, the other reading gasses, UV and anti-glare coated. Eyemasters, buy 1 pair, get 1 free, total just north of 600 bucks, plus the government's share. Before the discount for the second pair, it was right at 1100 bucks.  :censored:    :argh:

Leftwing lunatic thought process concerning police: I'm armed with bad breath and body odor. The police are armed with a badge, a tazer, a 9mm, and a shotgun.  I should antagonize them.

The place I went to also had a special going, but it was just for a second set of frames for free.

I think I may have spoke too soon in regards to the headaches. It was back again today, but it wasn't as bad.

Where I get mine:

My prescription sunglasses with the antiglare coating actually ran about $80.  The numbers you guys're talking freak me out!

Going into sunlight from inside always makes me sneeze. I have Transitions lenses, and I love them; but they don't turn dark  very fast.

It's something in the brains wiring that's crossed that causes the sneezing.

Good glasses are expensive. Glad the headache went away.

I've bought my last two pair on line. So far I've been happy with them. Bought my last pair at Zenni, very cheap price, and I can see just as well as my sears optical ones. They have transitions as well.
