Sen. Tammy Baldwin ousts aide over VA controversy--but Sen Johnson office contacted also
This is sad. But I think this is another witchhunt by Republicans.
**I did not know till now that Sen. Ron Johnson's office had been contacted also. Has anyone seen anything form Johnson staff?
Sen. Tammy Baldwin ousts aide over VA controversy

Under fire for her office's inaction over alleged overmedication at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah, U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin abruptly ousted one of her top state staffers late last week.
Marquette Baylor — deputy state director for Baldwin and chief of her Milwaukee office — was let go on Thursday without explanation. Baylor has been offered a cash payout as part of a severance package if the former aide agrees to keep her lips zipped.
"It looks like they're trying to pin the blame on her," a source said of Baylor's dismissal by Baldwin...............
Honl noted that he also reached out to U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, a Republican, and U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, a Democrat, but got little response until the media picked up on the issue in early January.
Since then, he said, federal lawmakers have been very responsive to his concerns.
"They were caught with their pants down," Honl said.

1. Aw, Jeez--I use Tomah.
Interesting.
I wonder what Tammi's aide is being bought off on.

2. over medication is bad but i think i would prefer it to under medication
mom died last sept in hospice setting.
last couple of days she was unresponsive.
if she seemed restless we requested medication
so i think she was pretty snowed towards the end.
remember the scene from tears of endearment where the mother
had to beg for pain medication for her dying daughter.
when my wife was dying years ago--kinda around the movie time..... i kept
a watchful eye on things so that her suffering was kept to a minimum.
i think i would rather be snowed if the other option was pain.
Only two replies to an OP that is nearly a month old--and one of the replies shouldn't count since it comes from an almost certainly drug addled primitive babbling about how being over medicated isn't really such a bad thing.
One would think that there would be more interest in a story about one of the unprecedented darlings of the democrat party--an openly gay female senator, but one would be wrong. Baylor, the fired staffer, is a heterosexual black woman. She is being swept under the rug--hog tied, bought off, and told to keep her lips zipped. Talk about binders full of women.
Here is a link to Baylor's bio:

Marquette Baylor is currently serving as U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s Deputy State Director in her Milwaukee office. Previously, she was a member of U.S. Senator Herb Kohl’s staff for more than ten years. She has an array of responsibilities including, but not limited to, statewide constituent services and legislative and outreach liaising. Marquette is very active in the Milwaukee community and serves as the office’s representative to several local projects and efforts.
Prior to her work in the United States Senate, Ms. Baylor worked as Director of Development for Silver Spring Neighborhood Center and before that as Community Relations Manager for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. Ms. Baylor received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 1996. She was born and raised in Austin, Texas and has lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin since November of 1996. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and son.
Sounds like she would make for a valuable staffer, with all that experience. Tammy must have had a pretty good reason for cutting her loose. But Tammy isn't talking. Tammy doesn't comment on personnel matters, she just pays them off and tells them to shut up and go away.
But Baylor isn't going to take it lying down, she is going to stick it out and fight the matriarchy:
Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) may soon feel the heterosexual heat from firing a staffer over a VA scandal in Wisconsin. Local news reports indicate that the staffer, who is straight, may sue Baldwin, who is gay, for “sexual discrimination†over the firing.
Marquette Baylor, Baldwin’s ex-deputy state director, isn’t taking the news of being fired quietly. The former chief of Baldwin’s Milwaukee office, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, has lawyered up for a possible wrongful termination suit involving sexual discrimination.
