Would it not seem reasonable that the tow truck operators have some kind of contract with the city in which they operate? And would it also not seem reasonable that the rates for towing and storage are set by the city? And that the city gets some of the proceeds? And what about cities like Detroit, which have city owned towing and storage, would not the city set the rates? Do any of these tow truck operators belong to a union? I imagine some would so that in itself should take the sting out of DUmmies paying to get their car out of the impound.
All of the above sounds reasonable to me but then again, I'm not a DUmmy so I'm not surprised that no one over at the DUmp has asked those kinds of questions.
